Adafruit USB Cable with Switch [ADA1620]

Works exactly as described. Since my car's front 12V outlet isn't on a switched power circuit, I bought this to turn my dashcam on and off until I hard wire it. The switch has been working like a charm and seems to have a relatively solid build.

This switch makes it so much easier to turn on and off the power to my Mohu Leaf 50 amplified indoor antenna! I have found that some over the air TV stations come in better when the antenna is not amplified and other stations come in better with amplification. The antenna receives power from the USB port on the TV. So now to turn the power on or off, I don't have to disconnect the antenna's power USB connector to the back of the TV... I just flick the switch! This is a great buy for the money!

After a long wait it has arrived and it is defective. It will not connect any device in any switch position. I have requested a refund as replacement would be dumb at best.The seller did contact me with the offer of my returning it at my expense. At a purchase cost of $6.16 it is not worth the cost of sending to the UK. My advice is run the other way. Find another way to solve your problem. Do not buy this product!Update: As of July 7, 2015 still no contact with the seller. No offer to replace it or at least an apology. No refund notification has arrived.

It wasn't entirely obvious to me this appears to be useful for power-only (no data). So basically, for USB chargers and not full USB. I'm really writing this review to encourage the manufacturer to change that shortcoming. Being in engineering myself, I don't envision the change as imposing any significant impact upon the product.I purchased one of these in the hopes of using it on a USB attached webcam. It seemed like a really great way to disable the webcam without having to unplug it from the hub all the time. Unfortunately the webcam doesn't work when attached to this switch, which presumably is because the switch was only intended for power-only charging cables.

I'm using this switch for my LED light strip for my computer monitors. It works great for powering on and off my lights since the USB hub I'm using is always powered on. Rocker switch has a solid, satisfying click. Would recommend.

This is Great. Using it with a PS3 Controller charging station. When plugged in the charging station emits bright LED lights 24/7 but I can turn it on and off as needed without having to pull the cord out every time.

Since there is NO description of what the product is supposed to do, how can it fail? IT CAN FAIL. I tried to use it to connect a keyboard & be able to switch it on/off as needed. Did not work. Plugged it in, keyboard blinked once then it went dark. Maybe it would work for a tiny little fan or such. But it couldn't even pass enough data to support a keyboard. I do not recommend it for much of anything.
