Roxy Music "The Studio Albums" contains all eight original Roxy studio album in a vinyl LP boxed set. This follows the successful CD boxset that was released in 2012 through Virgin Records. Included in the box are the bands self-titled debut album (1972), and For Your Pleasure (1973) both of which feature Brian Eno.Also included are the albums Stranded (1973), Country Life (1974), Siren (1975), Manifesto (1979), Flesh + Blood (1980) and Avalon (1982), all with their full iconic cover art.

Good not great.
No book of any kind. The album jackets are literally too stiff and the lp sleeves don't fit well. So far the sound is good through 3 of 16 sides but the lps were very dirty with paper shredding.

Good music bad condition
The Roxy records are, of course, for the most part excellent. ONe can read other reviews about the musical content. However, this box was clearly used, despite coming in shrink-wrapped plastic. From the getgo, the corners of the box were dogeared and bashed-in. The moment I saw the intact shrink-wrap over that obviously beaten-up box I knew I was in for problems. ALL (I believe literally all) the vinyl records had grubby fingerprints all over them. On rare cases, this can happen with new records but these were fingerprinted all over: Clearly used. The quality was decent and I suspect whoever owned this box before just recorded all the records and returned the box. But it's indicative of poor quality control on the part of Amazon that they'd send such a poor-looking product.

Poor quality vinyl pressings and badly designed jackets & sleeves
This review is just about the quality of this box set and not the music itself-- which is excellent. The remastering on these lp's is excellent and by and large these albums sound about as good as you are ever likely to hear them. The problem stems from the vinyl pressings, the jackets, and sleeves. The jackets are too tight so putting a sleeve back in a jacket is, at best, a chore. The sleeves are also very tight, statically charged, and made out of a stiff glossy paper. Removing and replacing lp's from these sleeves will almost certainly damage the vinyl. I cleaned all of the lp's and relsleeved them in MOFI sleeves. The lp's are still equally difficult to put back into their jackets. The vinyl itself is where the real disappointment is for me. The records, without exception, contain excessive amounts of surface noise that was only partially improved with professional cleaning using my Hannl RCM. There was visible scuffing, lots of oily finger and palm prints, and water staining to one degree or another on every lp. The outer slipcase that holds everything is very nicely done. Overall, this was a fail.

Great sound quality and packaging, jackets could be bigger
Vinyl is flat and quiet, the recordings sound very nice indeed. The jackets are high quality - laminated paper over cardboard and they reproduce the original jackets nicely. The only complaint I have is that the jackets are too small - getting the records in their sleeves to go back in is a struggle and I'm pretty sure the sleeves or jackets are going to tear before too long.As for the music - Roxy Music's last album was Avalon, released around 35 years ago. You either know the music and love it or you don't. I do, and I'm glad to relive my teen years by blasting 'Siren' on a turntable again.

Could've been a lot better
I read several reviews on Amazon UK regarding this box set that complained of poor quality. Regretfully, the quality is quite bad on all 8 albums. The remastering is stunning but the care took in giving quiet high quality vinyl is really disappointing. Firstly, the record sleeves barley squeeze into the album covers. On all the albums there are pretty constant crackles and pops that very from tolerable to irritating, The copy of the first Roxy album is just plain awful to the point where I will listen to the CD when I'm in the mood for the album. It is a pity such care was put into the remastering only to be a victim of poor quality.

I've always liked Roxy, but after listening to this remastered collection ...
This is a conversion experience for me. I've always liked Roxy, but after listening to this remastered collection of all of their studio records, I've got a new favorite band. It's that good. The packaging is excellent, and the records themselves are even better. If you are even remotely interested in this band, buy this set and you'll be hooked.

Poor Quality
The Box is pressed in Holland and usually they are of poor quality. It goes back as bad as in the 80/90s.No booklet or writeup of any sort. The record covers are horribly printed. There’s no heart and soul being put to it into releasing this Boxset.Obviously the Band was not consulted !Quality of the press is 2 out of 5 stars. It’s the worst Boxset I have ever bought in my life seriously!

Great Master, Not So Great Packaging!
Okay I have just recently started buying vinyl again but I still like all formats (except MP3's). I bought the Bands vinyl collection and it sounded amazing so I took a chance on this one. First off music wise these records are great. Not a huge fan of manifesto but still a good record. Now about this package, the mastering is great and it's on 180g vinyl but the packaging issue really brings it down a star. As others have mentioned it's very hard to get the album in and out of their individual sleeves and there is surface noise (not to bad but after hearing the Band box I have been spoiled on how good clean vinyl can sound) and the vinyl has finger prints on them and some mild scratches that does effect the sound. I am really not sure about this vinyl trend right now. I picked up some of the Zeppelin reissues and there were so many snap, crackles and pops plus destortion I had to return them. I have read about similar issues with the Beatles box set. People reviewing the product say the German pressings are good but I really don't want to order something from half way around the world. I find the quality control very lacking but like I said this is a great set just be careful when taking them out of their sleeves. In closing Viva Roxy Music!

Terrible pressing and cover quality.
The actual remasters seem great, which makes this box set all the more frustrating. The covers are hopeless. They're cheaply constructed, and all the inserts came creased because they barely fit in the sleeves. But the most criminal thing is the quality of the vinyl pressings. They're dirty, full of pops and clicks, and some even have small, deep scratches. About three out of the 8 albums are in good condition. The rest have problems on a sliding scale from acceptable to terrible. The complete Roxy albums are a wonder to listen to: they're amongst the best body of work in popular music. This box set is a travesty.

Buen producto, pésimo cuidado en el envío
La caja la colocaron dentro de otra caja más grande sin ninguna protección, se vino jugando y llegó maltratada, los discos bien pero uno no compra estos productos solo por el interior, importa mucho también el estuche.
