Unfinished Garbage poor workmanship. Product photos misleading.
This is lame. If you're looking for something finished and clean looking, look elsewhere.I was looking for a simple thermometer that used 10K Thermistor probes and that would "cleanly" insert into the cabinet I am building. This product failed to live up to that expectation. There are dozens of these kinds of products on Amazon but this one had a USB power interface which would save me some time in cabling, so I bought it.Note: In this device, USB is solely for power NOT data output. This is not spelled out but 'implied' when they say pass-through, so don't be mislead by the poor product description. The front bezel product pictures shows button holes with functions that say Start/Stop/Down which suggested other functions, they are not. These are simply EMPTY holes with no dust protection whatsoever(see my pics). The plastic bezel is clearly molded for use for some other purpose and simply slapped onto the front of this device without thought towards completing the manufacturing process. Plugs or dust covers would have helped. Think of it like as if you ordered a car without one of the options and instead of putting a neat plastic cap over that opening, they just left a blank cavity, that's what this looks like. The totally amateur approach to workmanship is what I'd expect from a garage shop operation. I suppose I wouldn't have minded so much if this was someone elses cheap product they were simply reselling as a customer convenience but, as my pictures clearly show, they proudly emblazon the unsightly COOLERGUYS.COM Logo on the bezel in HUGE fonts.Note: the product pics advertise a small logo but the actual logo dominates the bezel, that plus the empty button holes only serves to make the product look like it was salvaged from another system and adds to an unfinished appearance. It makes for an absolutely unpolished and ugly presentation if you were to include it in your system.(See my pics)What I found annoying about this product is that for the money, it was garbage and just a crappy value. The image was simply a misrepresentation and what you got was way off from what was in the picture. Last but not least, by my estimates, they charged about 20% more than competing products on Amazon that are fully complete and look a lot cleaner. I wouldn't be so harsh if the product photos were honest but they are misleading and that's what gets these guys slammed in this review.

Cheap plastic and hard to read during day light, but works
It is a little bulkier than it it looks and the plastic used is cheap (has little discoloration you can see in reflection during the day). But the biggest problem is the digits are almost white when off and it is hard to see the reading during day light, it looks much better at night and I do not see it too bright blue like some suggested but I agree it is brighter than it looks in the picture.I am using it to monitor the temp of my AVR which is located in a small cabinet that has a glass door in the front. I attached the display the frame holding the glass. The display works as intended to read temperature at 72 degrees and above (tested it for up to 130 when my cabinet fan was off).I was not sure I needed this display after installing the fan but now I think it was a good idea because I can see the temp in real time. I had moved my AVR once and forgot to turn the fan on and the display helped me realize that the fan was off when I noticed the temperature was gong above normal. To solve the cheap plastic and reading it during the day, I am looking for semi transparent black plastic film to cover the plastic and display so that the digits are not visible when turned off. It might help make blue LED less intense for those who finds it too bright.

Good buy
When I first pulled it out of the box I was questioning if I will even use this in my build... the outter shell of the unit is very cheap and off putting. When I checked inside to see the board it actually looks pretty decently soldered and nothing bad to note there.. out of the box it is working and seems to be decently accurate.. I will be doing some tests to see exactly how accurate it is. For the price I wouldn’t expect it to be the most pinpoint precision piece of equipment. The screen is a very bright blue and looks pretty good. For now I have to say this seems to be a decent buy for 12$

Much brighter blue LED than the picture shows
I'm using this to measure ambient air temperature at the top of a server rack, and it does a good job. The sensor is very responsive and accurate. If there is a criticism, it's the blue LED display. Maybe it's just my eyes, but it's so bright (and deep blue) that it's hard to read. The blue seems blurry, and I find myself having to get closer to the thing to distinguish between a "0" and an "8" or similar. Whatever happened to green or red LED's? They were easier to read.

Well Worth It
I was skeptical about this product for the price, but after reading reviews and finally trying it for myself, I am more then happy. It works great and better then I expected it to. Great blue LED display. Smaller then I expected, dont let the picture fool you. It is smaller then your hand, which can be good some people. It is approximately 1 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. About the size of a credit/debit card. It measures the exact temperature. Both the USB and sensor cord are about 2 feet long each. In case anyone is wondering, both cords come out of the back. Even though it cost $17, is does feel tender/cheap. So if you want it to last a long time then be careful with it.

Very good, but fragile
Be aware that the temp probe can come dislodged from its solder point VERY easily. Mine lasted all of one night and I never even remember tugging on it. Very small wires connect it to the PCB. I did manage to solder them back and and get it functional again, but this time I laid a drop of hot glue on it just in case.Too bad that when I went to look for another, they were listed as unavailable.

Pure junk
Poor quality and no controls. The screen are of poor quality and will slowly burn out

Works well
Wish the cords were maybe a foot longer each but it's perfectly functional as-is. I plugged it into a rear USB port and ran the temperature sensor wire through a cutout on the back of the case and zip tied it so that it was measuring right in the middle of the case. Set the unit on top of the tower and it's easily visible.
