Some time ago I bought a marshmallow BBQ kit and it came with a extending roasting fork. It was so much easier and safer to use then a short wooden stick that would catch fire so searched online for another one or two. I came around this set. It was really well priced and came with 8 extendable forks and a handy bag. The forks all have a different a colour strip around the handle. This helps if you are roasting for other people and then you can make sure that they get the same colour (quite handy around a camp fire). The sticks extend quite a way so little ones can use these forks as well (with supervision). I must add that we often use these fork to roast marshmallow on a gas hob. This works really well and a lot quicker than making a fire/BBQ.The forks are really easy to use. Extend the length by simply pulling the handle, while holding the metal stick. I did this a few times while roasting and the metal was not hot... however I do not recommend this in case the heat has travelled past the marshmallow... depending on where you hold the fork in the fire/BBQ. The handle does not get hot. The forks are easy to clean even with dried on marshmallow (my daughter hid the fork in her bedroom for some strange reason and a week later I found it). We normally wash our forks with warm soapy water and dry them extended with a towel to avoid any rusting. They do appear to be stainless steel but not sure if they have any springs or such inside that are not. Then once they have been dried with a towel I fold them back down and put them back into their bag ready for the next time. If there is dried on marshmallow simply soak the fork part in a cup of warm soapy water for a couple of minutes and then rub with a cloth/sponge/scourer and it will be clean again with minimal effort.The only negative I have is that my original fork had covers for the prongs and this set does not have any... although my original was a one off and did not have a bag. The problem of no covers means that you need to be careful when getting the forks out. If you put them prong down into the bag they will eventually go through the fabric of the bag. My tip is do not put your hand in the bag but to gentle tip the end of the bag up and let them slip out and then take what you need and hold the bag upright again so the remaining forks go back inside the bag. The prongs are not mega sharp but are designed to penetrate marshmallows so could case scratches and small cuts... so just be careful.Overall I really recommend these roasting forks.

These are in my camping drawers currently and we use them to BBQ. On this occasion, we skewer corn on the cob, it was left on the BBQ for quite a while as some campers preferred their corn crispy. The handles never got hot and my 11 year old niece cooked for most of the skewer time. Overall a really good addition to our camping supplies.

Easy to use and come in a nice little bag to keep them altogether

Used these over camping fire. Extends to almost a meter and still feel perfectly strong. They don't bend when extended. Kids loved them and keeps them a safe distance from fire. Great fun

This is a brilliant product, though it takes away quite a bit of the "excitement" of roasting marshmallows as there is little danger of you burning your hands... my husband, who is prone to marshmallow roasting incidents, completely approves of these, the kids love them, and they are so easy to clean (though I do handwash and not bung in the dishwasher). I would even buy these as a gift for someone, they are great! (Note, the red one I got doesnt fully extend, but there it extends enough and there are others that we use first)

They're fine for toasting marshmallows on the fire pit - not sure they'll see us through all summer as they are very flimsy!

Excellent sturdy product. Very safe marshmallow toasting for kids during to the extendable shaft. Liked so much ordered them for a fellow campers 40th birthday as they had admired them while camping. Highly recommend for halloween or camping fun!

Great value for the price and sturdier than I thought they would be. The extendable feature makes them safe to use over a hot fire. The only slight issue, which may affect all types of forks, it's really difficult to clean off burnt marshmallow.
