desertcart.com: Mail Order Bride: Westward Fortune: A Clean Historical Mail Order Bride Romance Novel (Montana Mail Order Brides): 9781500950446: Bridey, Linda: Books Review: Great - This was a great story full of action laughter tears and love. I love reading about babies as well. Truly a great story. Review: Another amazing book in an amazing series - I love all the characters. It's so hard not to laugh out loud at the witty banter and to not cry at the sadder parts. I know I did let out my own Lakota whoop when I realized why Joe went to Walhalla to get. I look forward to the next in the series and learn about Sammi who sounds like a girl much like myself.

First Five Are Really Good
The first book in this series came as a freebie from one of the places where I get many of my books. Not one of my usual reads, but, free is free and I needed a change. Good characters with believable back stories should make this series a delight to readers who like some romance with their historical fiction. It should probably be rated as PG-13, or whatever the next stricter rating is because of sexual scenes and some violence. Ms. Bridey has done a very good job with her research, or she has personal experience with ranching and horses, because the descriptive narrative is very close to spot on, considering her target audience. For nitpickers, like me, the approximate 1900 miles between Missoula, Montana to Houston Texas would have taken approximately 63 days of HARD riding, and crippled at least 4-5 horses. That it didn't, plus the characters making a return trip from Houston back to Montana, is artistic license. I recommend this for light reading for young females, aged 13 to 89 and older.

Classic damsel in distress. And undercover hero.
Beautiful story with a wonderful ending.I think that some form of justice should have been served on lacey's father but otherwise it was a good read.

happy times and end in a happy ending
The Montana Mail Order Brides books are enjoyable stories that are each complete without the feeling of being rushed through and entwine the characters into the other books within the series. As most romance books each couple has their ups and downs, inner battles, heartaches, happy times and end in a happy ending. It combines different cultures and the hardships and struggles that goes along with it. I found this to be a great mix in the story and was well done. Once I finish one book I quickly buy the next book as I want to see what will happen to another character. I recommend to read the book and series to anyone that likes romance.

A Marriage of Convenience, Or Is It?
When western playboy Joe Dwyer advertises for a mail order bride to force his father, August, into releasing his inheritance, he has no intention of changing his lifestyle. Of the many responses to this advertisement, only one letter from Lacey Reagan piques his interest when she begs him to rescue her from an alcoholic father who beats her. She assures him she will be the perfect wife in this arranged marriage. But Cupid has other plans. Lacey is impressed by the family mansion, the breeding operation, and the wealth it represents. Joe is smitten by his lovely bride who has a passion for horses and who wants to become a horse trainer herself. Joe convinces his father he is legally married and buys out August's half of the business. Within hours of August's return to Texas, a devastating fire breaks out where many valuable horses are stabled. By the time the fire is out, half of the prized horses have perished. When the fire is determined an arson, Joe wants to head to Texas to murder his father, and he slips away without a thought for his bride. The remainder of this book relates how Joe resolves his differences with his father, how he swindles Lacey's father, and how he wins back his wife by proving how deeply he loves her.

Mail Order Bride:Westward Fortune
This was a fantastic story, a sweet romance with enchanting characters. Loved Lacey right from the start. Joe took a little getting used to with his hatred towards his father and his telling Lacey he wasn't a one woman man. However, once he really got to know her, he had no desire to look at another woman. And the author did a nice job of explaining Joe's animosity towards his dad. Joe and Lacey go through several trials before finally getting their HEA. Their journey is frought with danger and heartache, with anger and forgiveness and most of all love. Excellent read.
