If you’re looking for a compact, no nonsense red (well, green) dot optic with a built-in rear sight, the ADE RD3-006x Green Dot might surprise you in a good way. It’s not a high end, break-the-bank sight, but for the price, it delivers impressive performance that’s reliable, durable, and easy to use, especially for pistol shooters who want something lightweight but functional. After putting it through its paces at the range and carrying it for a few weeks on my compact carry gun, here’s my honest take. First Impressions Right out of the box, the RD3-006x looks sharp. It’s a sleek, low-profile sight with a clean matte finish, and it doesn’t feel cheap. It’s actually pretty solid for its price point aluminum housing, good fit and finish, and the buttons are tactile without being overly stiff. The built in rear sight notch is a thoughtful touch. If you’re like me and appreciate backup irons for co witnessing or just peace of mind in case of battery failure, this is a big win. You won’t need to spend extra on suppressor height sights the notch works surprisingly well when paired with a standard front sight. Installation & Mounting The RD3 006x uses a Doctor/Noblex footprint, which means it fits a decent variety of optics ready pistols or mounts without needing an adapter plate (depending on your slide cut). I mounted it on a Glock 19 MOS using an appropriate plate, and it locked down securely with minimal fuss. Installation took maybe 10 minutes tops two screws, check the fit, zero it in. Everything needed (including tools) came in the box. ADE seems to get that not everyone wants to fiddle with custom tools or proprietary nonsense. The Dot & Glass Quality The green dot is crisp and easy to pick up, especially in daylight. Compared to red dots, I actually prefer green in brighter environments it’s more visible to the eye and reduces strain a bit when transitioning targets. You can choose from several brightness levels using the side buttons, and the controls are intuitive. The lowest setting works well in low light, while the highest handles sunny outdoor conditions just fine. The glass clarity is better than I expected. Slight bluish tint, sure but nothing that distracts or gets in the way of target acquisition. No warping or noticeable fish eye effect, which you sometimes see in budget optics. Durability & Zero Retention So far, the RD3 006x has held zero like a champ. After a few hundred rounds on both 9mm and .40 cal platforms, the dot is still dead on. I even ran a few drop tests on soft ground and bumped it a bit in a holster no shift, no issues. It’s not mil spec bombproof, but for range, EDC, or home defense, I trust it enough to keep it mounted. It’s also shock and recoil resistant, so unless you’re planning on throwing it in combat conditions, it should hold up just fine. Battery Life & Auto Shutoff It uses a CR2032 battery, which is easy to find and replace. Battery life is rated for thousands of hours on mid settings, and it features auto shutoff after a period of inactivity, which is a huge plus. You can also manually power it down if you prefer. One downside? The battery is bottom mounted, meaning you’ll need to remove the optic to change it. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note if battery swaps are a pain point for you. Price & Value This is where the RD3-006x really shines. You’re getting a solid green dot optic with rear sight integration for well under $150, and it punches above its weight in terms of performance. Sure, it’s not a Trijicon RMR or a Holosun 507C, but it also doesn’t come with that kind of price tag. If you’re looking for a budget friendly optic that you can actually train with, carry with, and trust to perform, this is a strong contender. Final Thoughts The ADE RD3 006x Green Dot Rear Sight is a great choice for shooters who want simplicity, affordability, and reliability all in one. The green dot is crisp, the built in rear sight is actually usable, and it holds zero well, even on higher recoil calibers. It’s not trying to be a $400 optic and it doesn’t have to be. It’s for the practical shooter who wants functionality without fluff, and it nails that balance. Whether you’re just getting into optics or want a dependable backup sight that won’t break the bank, this one’s definitely worth a look.

Nice optic for the $$
This fit on my Glock Gen 2. I have no issues with this optic. I'm shooting .22 with it utilizing a conversion kit so low recoil. It has an auto off feature which is nice. Battery (2032) should last a while. I didn't have to adjust up or l or r, which was nice. I would definitely recommend this optic for the $$. Came with everything needed to mount plus extras for a Picatinny rail, which I didn't have.

Lens cracked after first try
Install was easy enough on my Glock 19. Made sure I have the locktite blue to keep it snug and tight. But first trip to the range, I noticed it cracked on the upper left corner after maybe 7 shots. Returned it for a refund. My friends told me ADE is a good first red dot...I don't think so and now I am kind of avoiding all red dots.

It's complete!
I should give this 5 stars because the price, but the reality is that even if this was for a toy I'd expect to see it during daytime. It's REALLY difficult to see the dot outdoors on a sunny day. If you shoot indoor ranges it's fine, and during hunts from dusk or dawn is great, but mid day it's almost impossible to see the green dot even at it's max settings. I have used it once and luckily I "trained" to find the dot quickly but don't expect this to be a right away dot like those expensive ones. The shoe is really easy to install too, but you might need a sight tool to remove the old sight and install the shoe.

The mounting plate is only for Glock, not G3 steel sight nor Tp9
I have several ADE RD3-006 and they all work well. I bought this for my G3 since it says it will fit G3 with factory steel sight. Upon insertion it appears that the sight replacement adapter is a bit narrow so it will free float moving in the dovetail slot. I gave it to my friend and he said it fits his Glock 19. One word of advice, if you intend to use dovetail sight replacement style of mounting plate it's better to replace if there is a screw in the dovetail sight already so it will be much secure when mounting. Since the weight of mounting plate and red dot is way heavier than a small piece of rear sight and many rounds of recoil may eventually throw mounting plate and red dot out to the back into the face of the shooter which is a serious safety hazard. This is not a fault to this mount but overall dovetail style of mounting vs optical cut ready mounting.
