CS-FTR-MYT42 Backup Camera for Ford F150 4.2" MyFord Displays

6/02/15 -I got it in then I had it installed by a Pro and so far it's working good .It was kind of expensive but the fact it came with a 3 year warranty sold me on it . the installer had no problems installing it he was familiar with this one or he has done many.Update 8 02/16 the Camera quit working they sent a camera and a new harness but they didn't send the power box for it .the tech doing this said the box to power it tends to go bad on these and he's seen this happen or its common on them to happen .He told me he could easily by pass this bad power source on it or i could wait again until Camera Source sends me the new power box for it which I'd have pay labor cost for a 3rd time on it because they did not send the box with the Camera and the Harness so he said I can by pass the box he did it and it works right again but I had to pay the labor on it again to fix get fixed . I will see if this keeps on working this time and if it goes out again this thing will going back for sure because i cant afford to keep paying labor cost on it .to fix it they just don't build them like they use to right .

When it works, it works great as an add on with that OEM look and feel. However I’ve been getting an intermittent failure where the picture is too dark to be useful. For $500 I was expecting it to last much longer than under a year. I’m hopeful to hear from the supplier based on this review.UPDATE: I reached out to CameraSource about my quality issues and they recommended having the installer Best Buy take a look at it. CameraSource provided detail troubleshooting information and was on the phone with Best Buy to troubleshoot the problem. It appears there was an issue with the install because after they did a full diagnostic, the issue hasn't returned. Back to happy. I really appreciate CameraSource's prompt responses and flexibility in working with the installer on this one.

I love this back up camera.I had a best buy professional Audio Installer put my in on a 2014 XTR Ford F-150 4 door, I like it because it is a small 4.2 screen I think, but what the good thing is that's it's has little sun glare. so you can see much better. other back up cameras are a little to big for my taste. the bigger screens have to much glare. it took the installer about 2-3 hours and the price was right very low. so if anybody needs a back up camera I think this is the best one. it's a little pricey over $500.00 but worth every penny. good luck on your adventure. Camera works great!! I installed it myself in my garage in about 3 hours. I was a little worried about taking the dash apart but it wasn't near as hard as I was expecting. The hardest part was coming through the rubber boot in the firewall to get the harness into the cab. Once I got the wiring harness all installed it was smooth sailing. Instructions were pretty good for the most part. They could have been a little more detailed when it came to plugging all the harnesses and camera cables up. Overall, I am very pleased with the camera.

I bought this system because it looks like factory unit. I had it installed in my 2014 F-150 at New Image in Garland, TX. There was detailed instructions with the package, but sometimes it is better to let someone that has a lot of experience installing to complete the job. They were fair and did a great job. They completed it in a couple of hours. I have only had the camera in for a couple of days, but so far so good. The display on the 4.2 inch radio screen is a little small, but the picture is very clear.

Flawless operation and comprehensive instructions, a wonderful product! I see in other reviews that some had bad luck with the fishing line.... be aware that the FORD emblem has pins which protrude into the gate surface, so you must work about an inch into each side, then work both down and up from the top and bottom to avoid snapping the line. The emblem doesn't magically fall off, you must pull it a bit once you've worked around the emblem and pins to separate the mounting 'tape'.

As others stated, the fishing line provided did not hold up when removing the rear gate emblem. The install too longer than estimated, but I was able to do it myself. Also, a minor error on their diagram for overall cable hookup etc. The labels on the diagram were correct (i.e. use the camera input), but showed camera input coming from the wrong bundle. Glad I put it in. It's a great improvement for such a blind spot behind these large trucks.

follow the instructions carefully. read it two or three times so you can understand . the picture is crystal clear in reverse. you can see the rear bumper of your truck and surrounding area
