value for money
As a starter machine it is very good, a better instruction book would be very handy

Works really well
Bought for my daughter she loves it very handy that you can shorten the length excellent value for money backed by a great tool supplier shame no chisels with it but that was reflected in the price

Good buy for newbie woodturners.
Turned up a few weeks ahead of schedule. Easy set up. I'm a newbie but it certainly feels like a substantial bit of kit and for £100 while I get to grips with it, it seems like good value. I'll edit once I've got my hands on it....hopefully they will still be there! No extras so you'll need to invest in half decent tools.Mon 4th May updateHave now used the lathe to create art (haha) performed well enough for a total beginner. And finished product was good, any problems I'm sure were operator error!Changing speeds is a bit of a carry on as you have to get inside and physically move the belt. 5 bolts to loosen then lift to take the weight off. This gets faster after a few goes at it. Make sure when you're planning or bolting it down there's nothing blocking the housing door. The tool rest shakes loose on occasion but not a deal breaker for me.I'm very impressed for the price I paid (£20 more expensive at time of writing) but that is reflected in the no thrills department. No chuck is provided, a good one is quite pricey so any bowls etc you want to make might be a bit tricky without. just the back plate and spindle attachment came with the lathe. When looking for a chuck the tech specs say it 16TPI 3/4" spindle. Had to look on original manufacturer's website for that. The machine ran reasonably quietly and I didn't notice any wobbles or problems. There's only an on and off, no big protruding emergency stop incase disaster should strike! Overall I'm quite chuffed and would recommend to anyone new to the fold because of the price. This is a damned expensive hobby on initial start up. I imagine a more experienced user might opt for a bigger price tag with some bells and whistles. But I think I'm hooked! After 41 years I finally have a hobby.

Don’t bother
Broke after only using a few times. Seller “sold” others (after upping the price) so couldn’t replace sourced a much better one anyway. Seller arrogant. Don’t waste your money
