Focal 165AC 6.5" Coaxial Kit

Bought for my sons tahoe. Sounds great with rockford amp 100x4 puts my Infinity kappas to shame.

Put these in my camper. Head unit has 25W RMS per channel. Plenty of power to make these sound awesome. The original head unit had 6W RMS per channel and did not power these well at all (they sounded like crap!).

Focal make great speakers. I put these in the rear doors of my daughter’s car and the same series in front doors with treaters in the pillars. Make sure you sound mat inside the doors and inclose the door with mat. These middle of the road line from Focal sound good. I have the K2’s, other than power handling, they sound just as good.

They worked decent and sounded good for the money but I'm not a fan of this brand. It was my first time using this brand, I bought the components for the front and two ways for the rear. The rear didn't fail and sounded decent but the front had a speaker failure after a couple days. These speakers may be a good fit for you but I wont be using this brand again due to the simple fact that they're expensive and cant be trusted for the long run.

I was looking for the highest line of speakers that I would be able to fit into the door panels of my Kia Forte without any obstructions and originally I bought the ICU165 for the front doors mainly for the hybrid polyglass cone material and short mounting depth. Then after I little measuring and some further research I discovered that with the Metra (82-7303) 1.1" height mounting bracket I could increase the clearance of the magnet behind the cone to about 30mm. This meant I could move up to the Focal Access line (165AC) and shorten the distance to 10mm and still not make contact with the sliding power windows, even with upgraded 14awg speaker wire and custom terminals. Consequently, I moved the ICU165s to the rear doors with the same brackets. And finally, I obtained some XTC slim-line foam speaker baffles for all 4 speakers for mid-bass gains, cut out a small hole for the terminals, and it all barely managed to fit with just 2mm to spare. Needless to say it was all put together and blended perfectly with my previous sound deadening and sound absorption efforts all around the car. I have to say the fiberglass cones make a dramatic difference in sound quality, especially across the midrange, over most polypropylene cones even the polyglass ones that Focal makes when paired with a modest amplifier imo.

Excelente sonido

I got these impulsively, hoping to upgrade the sound in my truck. I knew beforehand that Focal is a higher end audio company but didn't have much more expectations than that. First thing I noticed when I unboxed them was the weight and quality of the speakers. Way higher quality than the older set they were going to quickly replace! Installed pretty smoothly (one thing to note is the grills kinda sandwich between the speaker and mounting plate/bracket so there must be some space to install them properly otherwise you'll need to loosen the mounting screws like I did to install correctly). Turned on my Alpine stereo and was pleasantly surprised at how good they sounded! I was debating on installing a subwoofer, but now I don't think I need to. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing sound quality. Good base value added. You can listen to sound quality in video, do know static is in sound either way and may be clearer then what comes across phone. Durable. Only issue as to why I’m giving them 4 stars is bc my factory speakers are louder than what these are. Not by much but are still louder.

As part of a basic stereo upgrade, I bought these to put in the rear of my Ford Fiesta ST 3 door hatch which used a factory 6.5" coaxial Sony speaker. The Focal fitted in its place no problems, and it's a much better quality speaker. Hard to compare sound directly from original vs Focal, because I have added an amplifier to drive the Focals whereas the factory Sony speakers were running off the head unit. But with amplification and some sound deadening, the Focals have some real punch and go nice and loud.

These are really good sounding speakers. I installed them in the rear doors since I had focal access component speakers in the front so I just wanted some rear fill. They’re also really good value for money. Make sure you have an amp powering these speakers at least 60w rms to each speaker because it doesn’t sound the same when it’s being powered off the radio it needs that extra power from an amp to make them sound really good

Son unos altavoces de gran calidad sonora y constructiva. Destaca por su calidad en baja y alta frcuencia. Tienen un detalle en sus tuites el cual es muy destacables, estan ligeramente inclinados y a su vez se pueden girar, lo que se agradece ya que lo puedes orientar al area de escucha. Gerenalizando, son unos altavoces de gran calidad para un coche, siempre que los istale en un sitio acorde a sus dimensiones(que tenga una caja acustica bastante bien dimensionada), te quedaras asombrado con su sonido.
