Thus far works great.Have one for a 12 lb and one for a 70 lb.The big one like to pull real hard and run around in swamps.Use both mainly on 20ft retractable leashes and harnesses.Real shoulder saver for the big guy (for him and me).The little one chokes from pulling much less.No issues yet with rusting, drying out, etc.Great product thus far, did exactly what I was looking for for each of our little dudes.---Update:Have one less... And one more dog since my last review. Have used two large and one small size. The bright green is easy to find in a pile in the back seat.I think my 6 mths old puppy may have broken our new one a bit.. but it still works fine.I like to use a carabiner around my belt l attached to this, and a leash connected between this and the dog as a back up attachment for our new puppy. She's a puller. A runner. And 40 lbs of muscle and growing. I use this to protect both of our shoulders (and hips. And backs).The smaller one, I use the same way for our Sausage Chihuahua. This one is to give his Lil' body a break if I accidentally step on his lead or ... Whatever else may happen.Really stopped my shoulder from hurting like hell after walks with the bigger pullers.

My dog bites the leash sometimes, so instead of buying a new retractable leash, I just replace the end with these. Then the dog bites through it. This isn't as strong as the metal ones, but the bungee bit makes it nicer and there isn't metal in my dogs face. Works well.

crazy dog sees a squirrel and it's all over. this product saves the dog walker. there's no predicting what the beast will do - if she spots something that merits further investigation she tends to take off at a snap. this shock absorber keeps us upright and able to control the dog. Yes, I know, she should be better trained. and we're working on that. but while she's still nutsy the attachment prevents her from pulling us clean off our feet.update to relate that the springy tensiony thing inside the extension broke free of its stitching on one end so there's no tension left in it. now, after less than two months this is useless. I had such high hopes for it. and of course my return "window" has slammed shut. nutz.

I attach my dog's shoulder/chest harness (not a neck collar) to the car seat so she doesn't get thrown around in case of a sudden stop or collision, and I clip one of these bungee leads between her and the seat attachment in order to provide some shock absorption. It doesn't have a lot of stretch, maybe an inch, but in some ways that's preferable to too much stretch with a snap back. It's our second purchase of one of these leads due to the first one getting misplaced. We were very happy with the sturdiness of the first one, so we ordered an identical new one.

I have the belt type running leash that has the elastic 3 foot leash. I actually bought this to extend that leash just a bit. My doodle isn't huge but he's long enough that it's easy to accidently step on the back of his paws if he wanders over too far.This is a little over a foot long and is also elastic so that helps give us the extra distance. It clips on super easy and ive never had any problems with it.You could also clip this on to a longer lead for letting your dog out or one of those runner lines if youre worried about your dog pulling too much.Our doodle is 65lbs.

Great. Originally bought the heavier one that is being returned.. Too heavy for a 25lb Cavapoo. This one is just right.

Wanted this to work for my 14lb cat who is leash trained but yanks on his leash sometimes. It seems very well constructed and think it would work great for a 40+ lb dog, but unfortunately way too big and heavy for a kitty (even a big one).

I like this quality, wish it has a little more elasticity for small dogs

My dog is 20lbs and sometimes decides she wants to sprint at a bird, this helps the shock and not dislocate my entire arm haha

Perfect length for what I wanted just a shame the elasticated section has almost no resistance. Sort of does thr job

Nice appearance but useless: not stretchy enough to make any difference and clasp is heavy and cumbersome. I bought a super cheap one on Aliexpress for a fraction of the price and although not as good "quality" (ie cheaper, lighter materials), it works better than this one.
