Good product
I bought this for my dad after his bladder cancer surgery. He said once he figured out placement it is a great product. He says not to give up but try different placements because once you find that it works wonderful.

This is a dangerous product if you don't follow the instructions
If you are considering the purchase of a Cunningham Clamp or are currently using one, I highly recommend you read my review of this device. After a prostatectomy for cancer 11 years ago I was left with urinary incontinence. My urologist recommended that I use a Condom catheter that connects to a collecting bag to handle this situation. To prevent the condom catheter from sliding off during the day he also recommended that I use a Cunningham clamp to keep the condom in place. Since then, I have used the clamp 24/7. The instructions with the Clamp recomend against using it for prolonged periods of time and not at all at night. I now realize in retrospect why they have this warning. The back pressure of blood flow that the clamp exerts on the penile vasculature has resulted in a proximal penile varix which is a collection of dilated veins that have caused me to lose approximately 40 % of my blood. The hematuria has caused a nightmare for me. Since I had pelvic radiation 11 years ago to prevent a recurrence of my prostate cancer, my physicians have all thought my severe hematuria was secondary to radiation damage to my bladder and penile mucosa. I have been receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the assumed radiation damage for two months without any effect. Two weeks ago it occurred to me that I have inadvertently created my own problem by using the clamp inappropriately. This has resulted in a back flow of venous pressure. Sure enough, I stopped using the clamp and I have not had any more hematuria. My physicians all agree that this is the cause of my hematuria and also recurrent urinary tract infections. There are other options to keep the condom catheter from slipping, one I have found is called a Posey, which is a cloth band secured by Velcro that accomplishes all that I need without the back pressure and hematuria caused by the clamp. Please be aware of my situation before you use this Cunningham clamp product.Jim Keefe, M.D.

Waste of money
My husband tried every clamp available after his prostate surgery. They are all pretty awful. Just go buy a bag of thicker baby socks and secure them on with a soft tie. Wash them in in a lingerie bag. Easy peasy, comfy and cheap. Same rules apply--don't go longer than you should without releasing the tie to empty your bladder and keep your sense of humor!
