THESE ARE THE SAME ROLLERS THAT HAVE BEEN USED IN SALONS FOREVER. I STARTED BEAUTY SCHOOL IN 1976 AND, WE ALL GOT THE 144 PC. SET OF DIANE MAGNETIC ROLLERS. I HUNG UP MY STYLIST APRON 5 YEARS AGO, AND THESE WERE STILL THE GO TO ROLLERS. I GUESS YOU COULD SAY THAT I KNOW THESE ROLLERS WELL. THE "MAGNETIC" BEING USED IN THE TITLE OF THESE IS BEING USED BECAUSE THAT IN THE NAME OF THEM, NOT BECAUSE THAT IS THE SELLER'S CLAIM. THEY WERE CALLED DIANE MAGNETIC ROLLERS IN 1976, AS WELL. NOW, ARE THEY MAGNETIC? NO, THEY ARE PLASTIC. HOWEVER, THIS TYPE OF ROLLER HAS BEEN SOLD AND USED FOR MILLENNIA. WHY? BECAUSE, THEY DON'T HAVE ISSUES THAT OTHERS DO. (I.E. THE DENTS AN INCH FROM THE SCALP THAT THE FOAM ONES LEAVE BEHIND.) THESE ARE VERY GOOD FOR PEOPLE THAT HAS HAIR THAT WILL NOT HOLD CURL WITH A CURLING IRON OR HOT ROLLERS. OR, SOMEONE THAT WANTS THEIR CURL TO LAST FOR A FEW DAYS. BUT, FOR MOST PEOPLE, THESE ARE GOING TO TAKE SOME PRACTICE IN ORDER TO BECOME PROFICIENT AT SETTING HAIR. ALSO, THIS TYPE OF CURLING METHOD IS FAR LESS DAMAGING TO YOUR HAIR. THERE ARE A FEW ITEMS THAT WILL MAKE IT EASIER:THESE ARE THE CLIPPIES THAT MOST STYLISTS USE. WITHOUT THEM, THE JOB WILL BE MUCH HARDER. They look very nice and strong

Well, maybe grandma used those foam rollers with the pink snap clips. Those left bumps on my head. But these are great! I have the bristle curlers but was having a hard time pulling them out of my hair without getting a little frizz. I’m not entirely sure why these are called magnetic, other than if your hair is soaking wet, it will stick to the plastic, but i usually have dry hair and then wet it a LITTLE bit to curl. I don’t have any problem wrapping my hair around and having it stay but perhaps it takes a minute to get the right movement to tuck the ends in. The curl comes out soft and smooth and that’s what I was looking for. Trying to find other means to get a curl without a hot tool on my new silver sparklers (aka gray and white hair) and these do the trick! (Secure wth those long plastic clips)

Horrible. Unfinished rough edges, plus roughness where the ends meet to make the tubes.Threw them away without using. Sad, this was once a go-to brand.
