Very bright - is that what "vintage" means?
Reviews of ANY pickup are totally subjective. I bought these to replace the original Fender ceramics on my MIM Strat. They are a bit bright for my taste, so I add bass in any position to fully enjoy these. I was considering returning them for a different set of Alnicos, but not worth all that effort when turning a couple of knobs will do fine. They are pretty articulate to my ears. Otherwise for under $30...whatta deal!

Nice upgrade
Don't the the off brand fool you these pickups are much better than those that come with budget guitars.

Great budget pickups
Alnico 5 magnets. Pickups work as they should. Reminds me of vintage fender single coil pickups. There are pickups that cost triple this and are no better.

Better Than Expected!
I rebuilt an inexpensive Asian Strat style guitar and wanted to improve its tonal quality. These FLEOR pickups worked out beautifully and sound better than expected for pickups in this price range. The pole spacing was ideal for this guitar at Neck = 50cm, Middle = 50cm, and Bridge = 52cm. The pickup wires are color coded for easy identification and the middle pickup reverse wound for hum cancellation. The tones I'm hearing are very articulate, defined, and smooth. They are bright sounding, but without brittleness. Honestly, they sound very close to the stock pickups on my real Fender Stratocaster! Very pleased with these.

Unremarkable Improvement over Stock Pickups on Squire Stratocaster
Pickups were shipped from China and took about a month to arrive. The low-E magnet in neck pickup was nearly unresponsive. Once installed, I found unremarkable improvement the over stock pickups on my Fender Squire Stratocaster (which is just a few years old). As tested, the neck pickup had resistance of 5.56k and the middle pickup had resistance of 5.38k (I didn't utilize the single coil bridge pickup as I elected to keep my existing 10.0k Humbucker intact--which really sings). As a side note, the resistance on my son's Squire Bullet "stock" pickups are 3.59, 3.56 and 3.68 in the neck, middle and bridge positions (all of which are single coil). Chalking this purchase up to another case of "you get what you pay for". I would not recommend these pickups to another buyer if you are looking for significant improvement in tone. In my opinion, if you are going to go through the trouble of purchasing and installing replacement pickups they should significantly enhance the tone of the guitar--otherwise what's the point? The foregoing notwithstanding, I did see modest improvement over my stock pickups (in the neck and middle positions) and my investment was not significant.

Just bite the bullet and spend more for a better pickup
I bought these because I needed the quick delivery of a cheap but quality pickup for a guitar that I was selling that had two bad pickups. My intent was to swap out all three original pickups for these three matching new ones. Of the three only two worked. My guitar tech told me "the leads on one of them was bad." I would have just returned them all and gone elsewhere but he didn't even ask me and installed 2 of them and charged me $75 for the pickups and some other electrical work. Now I am $75 dollars in on a guitar worth $350 - wasn't about to rip out the three and start all over again. With the original pickup still in the middle, the guitar sounds good in the 2nd or 4th position but sounds cheap and lacking in the bridge only or neck only. Like I said in the title . . . just pay more and get a better set of pickups. I only bought these because I am selling a guitar (vintage 1982 Japanese Westone Concord III) that will either be loved as is or will see a complete pickup swap by its next owner as the value of the guitar goes up and up. Good luck!

First impression : awful ..who raps guitar pickups in aluminum foil paper ? Then comes the wondering . Why are these pickups come with no Red wire , no yellow wires , beside the black grounding wire . I got two blue , one white , even though they were labeled I found it very strange . So I mounted them , not my first time , and as I suspected the outcome was terrible Pickup selector positions wouldn't make much of different in tone, middle pickup not sound at all, and tone pots made a little difference of almost next to nothing Took them out, put back the original pickups and everything was fine . Just a waste of time ..terrible quality or quality control
