Great mid sized axe! Just right for many tasks.
Looks to be exactly what I need. Have several full sized axes and small hatchets but this hits that mid spot for chopping tough kindling and splitting smaller pieces. Quality tool.

Perfect Axe for Wedge Driving
I’ve cut wood and used wedges for years. I’ve carried a regular axe and used it to drive wedges for the longest time. But not being as young as I used to be, lugging around a saw and axe made me lose some weight by using a smaller axe. Even though this axe weighs less, it does the job. It may take a couple more hits to drive the wedge, but it is worth it for the lighter weight. The cutting edge is useable. But it needs to be sharpened for anyone other than a novice. Overall quality is acceptable. If you need to shed some weight and not break the bank, this axe is a good buy.

Great camp axe!
There are multiple reviews of these being questionable camp axes. They are wrong. These are great axes that perform amazing. They are shipped sharp and hold their edge. They are the perfect mid length to swing. I am very pleased and would highly recommend.

PSA: Meant to be used KNEELING!
This has been a great camp axe for us, nice upgrade from a standard hatchet, you get a way better and more powerful swing with this without adding a lot of weight. Its important to note that this type of axe is meant to be used from a KNEELING position. Its not safe to swing a short axe (3/4 or hatchet) from a standing position, if you miss or over-swing through your target you can swing it directly into your legs and find out how devastatingly effective these blades really are on flesh... a major leg or foot wound and you can seriously bleed out very quickly and die, so take it seriously and give the tool the respect it deserves. Consider buying a pack of major trauma bandages to keep handy wherever you may be using this and in your car (search for "israeli bandage", familiarize yourself with how to use them BEFORE you need them!) If you swing this while kneeling and miss/glance off/swing through your target too hard then the head should hit the ground/dirt instead of swinging into you. You might feel silly but this is seriously the way its supposed to be used. You don't usually have a tall chopping block (or any chopping block) anyways when making kindling at a campsite. The fit and finish of this seems good for its price point and the intermittent (camping) uses we have for it. I like that its a good length it can be attached to a backpack. The one not-good thing is that the blade guard is, as others have said, sub-par. You should get some leather and craft a quality "holster" for the head ideally. Don't let kids play with axes and hatchets. It is not a toy. Its not for throwing. Its far more dangerous than it looks, dull or sharp, but its an awesome tool when used and respected properly.

Nice ax...
This ax is well made, and works great. The blade is sharp and splits wood easily.

Great for the money.
This is an excellent camp axe. Large sharp axe head with perfect handle length for splitting small logs for camp fire. Shorter handled axes risk hand injury due to proximity of hands to the log. This is not a good choice for splitting large quantities of wood. Some reviews spoke of broken handle or axe head breaking off and the photos showed damage to handle directly under the axe head which suggests “misses” when swinging at logs. Improper use should not be blamed on the tool
