It is necessary to listen to people like Seth Godin to open our mind outside of our “normal”
"One way to strengthen a maintain a tribe is to demand conformity. If all the people wear the same hat or perform the same rites, the tribe gains power. Humans have an ingrained need to do the right thing. We succeed as a civilization because we're wired to be open to morality, to avoid being desensitized selfish entities. Marketers and leaders often take advantage of that openness to create new standards that feel to us like moral imperatives.Whenever significant weirdness shows up in society, defenders of the status quo speak up to decry the immorality of it. Freeing the slaves was decried as immoral. Generations later, we have come to the conclusion that precisely the opposite is true, and that, the new normal (the weird) is also the new moral."

A Quick Inspiring Read!
As always Seth Godin inspires with this book too! Social Media has and is revolutionising the world, it allows everyone to express their uniqueness to the world. In this book Godin explains being weird in your own way allows you to join a tribe of like-minded people scattered all over the world. We are no longer going to be classified by nationalities but by tribes...the craft beer tribe, the herbal medicine tribe, the raw food tribe, the Manchester United fan club tribe, etc. This is a great insight into what really is happening in the world today. A quick but very inspiring read!
