MagSol Organics Magnesium Deodorant (Lemongrass 3.2 oz)

This review is two-part. I don't write many reviews, but this one is so good I wanted to pass the word:1. Whomever got the idea for using Magnesium in deodorant is a genius. Modern foods (and water) lack natural levels of Mg so this deficiency is a known and growing health problem. Many can't ingest it very well using supplements, so soak it through the skin in a bath. This works, but who has the time? But most everyone puts on deodorant daily, so why not add Mg to that? Day after day one keeps repleting their Mg levels without even knowing it. A dang clever way to keep one's Mg levels high; I'm not going back!2) This Lemon Grass version is perfect for me (and my wife, she keeps stealing it). It has a faint but pleasant odor.Exactly the deodorant I've been looking for, not overpowering but eliminates the body odor, exactly what it's supposed to do.

I went organic and natural 9 years ago and started to use the typical natural formulas. My immune system decided that it didn't like those anymore with the worst rashes that I had ever had in my life. So I had to find ones that didn't have the baking soda, cue the stinky smell because none of those could control the odor or wetness as well as this caused rashes too. So I very sadly went back to store bought deodorant until I healed the skin under my arms and found a deodorant that wouldn't give me third degree armpit rash/burn. Then, I was internet researching magnesium and came across deodorant with magnesium and decided why not give this one a try! What do I have to lose?!? I am glad I did! It was the best idea ever! I have been using it for 3 weeks and so far so good! No rash and no smell! For reference, I live in the south with hot humid summers and i have hyperhidrosis. Please try it for yourself! I really think that you will like it!

Ugh. Three main items of dissatisfaction.1. When you first apply this, it smells of bug spray. Even worse, after a short time interacting with your body, it smells of weed. Don’t go for a job interview with this as you’ll stink of drugs.2. Your underarms are left waxy from the beeswax ingredient. This wreaks havoc with the blades on your razor. You’ll munch through shavers while rubbing your underarms red trying to get a clean shave.3. You will stink within hours even if you haven’t exercised excessively. And please no “getting used to it” excuse. I tried this daily for two weeks this summer and it just doesn’t work.Added disincentive - it’s expensive! This is a definite thumbs down.

I'm happy to say that I have found my natural deodorant of choice! Most of the natural deodorant choices I've seen contain either baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), hydrogen peroxide or alum crystal (a form of aluminum). The first two options totally suck and are usually caustic - as in they cause rashes, especially to sensitive skin. The third option (with aluminum or alum) is the worst and of course, there are many articles claiming that the use of aluminum in deodorants has been linked to Alzheimer's Disease.This deodorant is made from 4 simple and natural ingredients: Almond Oil, Beeswax, Magnesium Oxide, and Essential Oils.My main reasons for liking this one the best are:1) It's a stick, which I really like. I was using another brand that worked fairly well however, I had to put it on with my fingers because it's basically a clay.2) This deodorant lasts like ALL day and into the next day - not kidding! I've woken up late a few times and had to hit the road without a shower on the last film I was working on and I am happy to say that I did not "pit-out" that next day and make people around me queasy.3) The sandalwood fragrance SMELLS REALLY GOOD! I've had several people ask me what cologne I was wearing on days when I actually wasn't wearing any cologne, just the deodorant.Bottom line: this deodorant is amazing, and 1 unit will last you for months.So what are you waiting for? Go and get yourself smelling good already :D

I purchased this product in July 2018 because I wanted to try a different natural deodorant. Ive been using natural deodorants for a few years now so I was very surprised when this deodorant did nothing for odor control. I tried applying to my armpits without any hair, little stubble and after two weeks worth of hair growth (summer and fall season) and this product was completely useless. I then decided to contact customer service on 8/17/18 and as of today 12/28/18 I still haven't heard anything back.If you're on the fence skip this brand. The positive reviews must have been made in exchange for a refund. I am a small petite woman that weighs less than 110 lbs so if its ineffective for me, I can't imagine how effective it would be for the average adult.

I’m really hoping this deodorant starts getting better. I’ve been using it 2 days now and have developed itchy bumps all over. Really upset because this deodorant is extremely pricey. My other natural deodorant I switched from didn’t do this. I’ll give it a few more days before sending it back.

I’m always cautious of when there is such a heavy split between five stars and one. I can’t give this product a high rating unfortunately.The consistency of the deodorant is really undesirable. I’d describe it as sticky and thick. If you have any armpit hair, it’s going to pull it out as you apply.The pulling out of hair is enough for me to leave a one star review, but going further than that I’d say the smell and cost solidify the rating for me.It was so undesirable I went back to using the old spice gel deodorants there I was using that occasionally gives me alcohol burns. That’s really saying something when you’d rather use your old deodorant with known issues than this new one.
