Another great drone!
This is actually my second drone from Snaptain. My earlier review was on the S5C, which is a very tough drone.Assembly was very easy. The blade guards are just pressed in. There are no screws. Basically, all you had to do was put on the blade guards, charge the batteries and remote, and you are ready to go.The Sp 660 is actually, (for me), is easier to fly. Not sure why, but the control seems a lot smoother, and not as "jerky" as the S5C.I have used the SP 660 now for about a week, inside and out, and was impressed with it.Tough, smoother to fly and the return to home works better.I got about 18 minutes in a charge, so with two batteries, I was looking at 36 minutes of flying time. That is a lot of play time! The red front blades made orientation easier. So far I have not had to replace any blades. :)I feel the S5c was a better drone, but the SP 660 is easier to fly.Pros -Long battery life, at least 18 minute per battery. And it comes with two.Responsive but smoother than the S5C.Colored blades make orientation easier while flying.RTH and headless mode work great.Connecting the Snaptain Eco program was easy, but it still showed the S5C as the drone in the main screen. That doesn't make difference, but just strange to me.Came with extra blades. The controller is larger, better laid out, and just seems more "professional"The rechargeable controller is great, lasts a long time on one charge.Camera is a lot sharper and crisper.Cons -Installing the battery is harder, with the connector on the drone getting in the way.No legs, so it sits right on the LEDs, but haven't seem to make a difference for me.To me, the body design has the front looking like it should be the front. (nitpick)No lights on front makes orientation harder.Their website doesn't seem to have the registration for the one year warranty working, but an email to their customer service and they actually took the data and registered it for me.(Thanks, Zoey!!). Obviously they have great customer service.Originally, I had said the S5C was a great first user drone, but for ease of flying, this one takes the cake. Not as fast, powerful and is smaller than the S5C, but smoother and easier to learn on.I can't comment on how tough it is, since I learned to fly a drone on the S5C, so the SP 660 didn't receive near as much abuse.Hope this helps someone in making their choice of drones, which is a great hobby!Safe and happy flying!

Perfect beginners Drone!
What a perfect drone for beginners. My son has been wanting one for some time now. So I dug deep and did my homework on things to look for. I dug into Amazon and was doing my fair share of reading reviews. Asked questions and after that was all said and done, I came across this drone. Doesn't have the sex appeal some others have, but when it comes to a beginners drone, its more about the features and specs than the overall look. Don't get me wrong, its a very nice looking drone, just not the flashy flat black with led lights. From the first start, this thing has some power, caught my son and I off guard when this thing fired up for the first time. He has really taken his time into learning the features and how to maneuver the drone. The huvor mode is pretty cool. He has been in the process of finally getting his smartphone connected up. The battery life seems to be better than advertised, so that's a nice surprise. He has already figured out how to do flips with it, I didn't even know that was possible, so call me a bit shocked when he showed me the other day when getting home from work. He has yet to fully try out the video feature of this drone, but soon. One of the pluses for me when figuring out what drone to snag for him was the remote. I really like that the remote too is rechargeable. A lot of other drones I checked out took 9V or AA batteries. I love the idea or just charging the remote when charging the drone batteries, yes batteries, it comes with two, super chill! He has yet to take the "training wheels" (Blade protectors) off, but he is being super cautious before taking them off. I am ok with that, even though this kit comes with a second set of blades, but it's always best to have a spare set then be flying with the spare set :) So far flying out back of the house, it seems the drone to remote has some really good range, my guess is he has flown it roughly 50 yards out from where he stands, I assume it can go much further, but lets not push it!I highly recommend for anybody that might be thinking of getting their feet wet in the drone world. Hopefully if I can get him to use the video feature, I will upload a small video clip, but don't hold your breath waiting on that, my son seems to do most (ALL) things at a snails pace ;)

Video Failed
My first drone. Definitely wasn't easy as I anticipated to fly. It took some getting used to. I'm still learning. The calibration on this drone is hard to accomplish even though I tried to follow the instructions. Sometime it would steer on its own. but once the drone is restarted it would be okay. Not sure why that is.This drone is durable. It took a beating like a direct kick, bumps, drops, and done it all over again and still fly high and low wherever i go. The battery run time is very good. Nice having 2 batteries.Had to return it to Amazon though. Could not activate the camera system as the drone failed to transmit the wifi signal for connecting to my phone. Instructions were simple but would not transmit. Called Snaptain for support. No answer. Left message in mailbox. Never heard back from them.

Not worth it unless you are in an open field with nothing around
Was given this drone as a gift and took it out for a "virgin run" today (April 9, 2020) after about almost a month of it sitting in the box. Took it outside in a field near my community. Took off fine but the drone quickly flew without really responding to the control. Despite moving the left stick down (land) or hitting the home button, my cell phone shown "low signal" on the Snaptain App and the drone kept going. I attempted running after it but lost sight of it and the last screenshot on my phone appeared to display at "ground level" with a retaining pond divider. I have scoured the area for the drone but nothing! I think it may have sank. This was definitely not a pleasurable experience and after reading some internet reviews, I wish my wife had know about the issues before spending money. The only solace I have right now is that it wasn't more expensive!
