Great if you rehearse a lot!
Can't go wrong with D'Addario! I need high E strings. I play hard and they break. Just that simple, in order to get the sound I want and need, I need .008-.009 high E's. These are great, and they can be used on acoustic or electric. A rehearsal dream. While full sets are required for performances, these singles will get you through rehearsal with flying colors!

Decent
These strings were a good addition to my gig bag, for replacing the high E string after a breakage, when I don't need to replace the whole set. On my Gretsch for double jet, this stays in tune well, and meets all the standards I would expect in terms of how it looks, sounds, plays and fits.

Excellent value and well constructed, quality materials used
I don't know why some steel string sizes are much more expensive than others. And I'm talking sizes in between two others, below the 0.5 mm thickness (PL018 gauge and below). Less than $1 is a great price. Some that are fractional gauges cost $4 to $6. Anyway, these are excellent quality and they count towards your shipping cost threshold. They're a great way to increase your total amount to bump your shipment to $35 for free shipping.

Strung out on strings
I bought these strings for use on my son's Yamaha electric guitar. He tends to break the high E string a lot, and rather than buy full sets and end up with numerous extras of the other five guitar strings, I find it more efficient to buy the high E strings in bulk. D'Addario is a high quality string and these are a great value. If you are a guitar novice and are looking for a particular string in bulk, just keep in mind you are probably not going to find "bulk E strings", "bulk G strings", etc. Rather you will find them sold by gauge. For example, for the high E string you would buy 09 or 010 gauge strings, and so on. I did not rate these strings a 5 for one reason. I have found they do tend to break more frequently than Ernie Ball strings, thus I would consider that brand a somewhat better purchase.

A standard, yet reliably great string
Works like a champ for keeping in your bag. E strings pop all the time people! Lol These strings are super reliable for sounding good enough for most and last. Decent feel too. D'addarios are standard for a reason people.

Tame A Bright-Sounding Guitar
I play blues on a vintage Danelectro DC59 which is pretty bright. It is made even brighter by the substitution of a fully-adjustable metal bridge over the stock rosewood. Putting on flat-wounds brings the tone down a notch and make the "lipstick" pickups really sing. I hear a noticeable increase in output over DR Strings Pure Blues Pure Nickel Wrap Round Core 10-46 strings. 13's are a bit stiff for my poor fingers, so I buy a D'Addario PL010-5 Plain Steel Guitar Single String 0.010 for the high E string and move everything down a notch -- giving me 10-13-17-26-35-45 which is just right for me. Also, these flats make a great warm mid-heavy slide sound with my trusty Dunlop 213 Pyrex slide. Note that the "chrome" refers to the wound strings according to the factory. The "plains" are just ordinary steel, so the PL010 matches. They stay in tune really well and last longer than most -- I usually change every month or so, but don't really need to. Highly recommended for this scenario. YMMV.
