Truly Sturdy
I needed a new pair of hiking poles for a 2-week backpacking trip and they needed to be very compact to go on an airplane. If you get name brand from one of the outdoor outfitters you can expect to pay anywhere from $150-$300 for a pair. I didn't have that kind of money for poles but they are a really important piece of equipment. After some careful looking I selected these hiking poles and somewhat nervously hit the trails.I have to say I am impressed. These poles withstood some pretty rough conditions in harsh mountain terrain. We were hiking in the Sawtooth Mountain range where you had to navigate boulder fields and slides of all sorts. Solid footing was important and I can't begin to tell how many times I got these stuck between rocks and lost my footing and was sure the poles would have bent or broken as I held on to them yet they never did. When you hiking, they sort of jiggle a little at the joints but the construction is solid and, if one was going to bend or break, it would have with what I put them through. The adjustment for height is solid - not once did these slip or need readjustment. The cork handgrips were solid and kept me from getting blisters even when sweating heavily in the harsh heat and sunlight on the sheer rock faces we climbed. We forded streams and small rivers and these kept me solidly on my feet against currents as well and showed no sign of issue with water getting inside. One of the things I really like about the feet for these is that they have a metal bracket inside each foot for the pole tips so that if you do need the rubber feet you won't wear through them with the tip. I only used the round guard sleeve to prevent the poles from going too deep into the ground or rocks but will make good use of the others when hiking in other conditions.Collapsing the poles took some trial and error. You absolutely have to collapse the top section with the other segments hanging so the internal cable stays hanging. If you don't, it will get bunched up inside the casing and the rod won't fit back inside and then you cannot fold the other sections. Once you know how to properly collapse these, they are super quick and easy to manipulate.I have been extremely happy with this purchase and for under $50 these are a great price for quality hiking poles. If you are in doubt, just get them - they work and work well.

Best poles ever, great service
I love my poles! I've used them hiking, backpacking and as my tent support. They are easy to set-up, break down, adjust and use. I have had people ask me about them and the ease in which I can change the height based on terrain and stow them away when bouldering. The cord broke when I was hiking off terrain and the company sent me a new pole quickly and was very friendly in doing so. I would buy these poles again in a heartbeat and will recommend them to as many people as I can! Thanks Equipeak! You are an awesome company!

Stability
My wife and I used the walking sticks. We climbed up up Masada, in Israel and the sticks made the hike much easier specially going down the rocks as that’s for most of the pressures on my metal knees

Customer service is awesome!!
As I have aged, I have found the need for something to help me with my balance, especially on these rocky trails here in northwestern Virginia. The Tuscarora Trail is one that I spend some time on, as an example of rocky trails. Four years after buying these poles and maybe 100 miles of hiking (Yes, I know I need to get out more) one of them developed some looseness and the pieces would pull apart slightly and would also make a clicking noise EVERY time it hit the ground. I contacted Equipeak thru the Amazon app, and I very quickly had a new pole delivered, no cost to me! Thanks, Tom at Equipeak.

Good product...Weak instructions
Likes: Product exactly as advertised. Very strong. Multiple "feet" options is good.Dislikes: Minimal instructions included. Nothing on how to unlock. Altho I haven't checked out videos. In set up, one stick came apart. Altho instructions had a fix which worked, subsequent lockings of that stick are prone to same issue.

Great value as a wading staff or trek pole
I have tested this as a wading pole. So why is it so great? You get 2 poles for the quoted price. Very strong construction. Goes together easily. Held together with vinyl coated wire (it will hold up for lots of use). Clips into place. Will not come apart until you want it to. Has ski basket so pole won't go into and get stuck in mucky clay in deposition areas of river (basket could be a bit bigger (I switched over a basket from another staff I had)). Has rubber protector on tip so it won't clank on rocks and scare fish. Adjusted to multiple heights - you can set it for what is best for you. Excellent hand grip. There is no usable carry case for this item for fishing - for hiking, yes. So when you fish, you have to use it the moment you leave the car until you come back. Best over wading staff for the money. If it does happen to break (which would be difficult), you already have a spare. Very staisfied with this product and recommend it.

Wiggling stick
Usually I checked reviews before I made a purchase. Often I was satisfied with the items I received... ...However, this one really not meeting my expectations - after I assembled them, I immediately disappointed as they appear to be wiggling sticks. I won't feel comfortable to use them for real hiking, even for the fact I am only doing those easy trails. This is a pull & click type. My old one besides it is tight by screwing each section, which present must stronger/ stable.Maybe they are OK for elder people to use as crane, as some review commented? I will let my parents try them with caution, then decide if I will give them to my parents. I may end up to return them.

Barely walking to walking
I have been working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week since the lock down started and I am seated all of that time. No I don't work in and essential service. My employer just figured out they could exploit the situation. I have health problems and had a routine that managed them. My new life has turned me into a hunched over shuffle walker that can only walk a block. These sticks work better for me than canes or crutches to get me upright and able to walk and add to my distances.

Light and compact
I like that the poles fold down small enough to fit in a small backpack - that's what I bought them for. They fold and adjust easy, and function just fine. The only issue I found was the wrist straps had a couple plastic 'burs' on them at the edges which have a tendency to chafe the wrist or back of hand. I will likely cover with tape or something to rectify. Overall, if they had a better quality wrist strap, I would give them 5 stars.

The right ones for me (and you).
Lightweight, well built, and full adjustable, I would have expected to pay double for a set of this quality. The cork grips are comfortable and fit well my rather large hands. I am really quite impressed by these beauties (they made my wife jealous).I would recommend them.
