SpektrumDX5C Smart 5-Channel DSMR Transmitter with SR6100AT, SPM5120, Black Medium

Has a good feel, about what I'd expect from this tier transmitter. Has a ton of features and provides a great amount of model binds and features. Got this with the 6100AT receiver. Everything paired and setup easily BUT after calibration (make sure you hang on to the car at ALL times during setup) I was having an issue with it steering left on its own. Instantly thought AVC but my outcast 4s v2 had just had a bad bash before I started setting it up. Figured I'd go through the front end real good to make sure nothing slipped or was bent. Everything looked good so went into the transmitter settings, this is where my misunderstanding caused me hours of issues, to disable AVC. I thought I could go through the transmitter to disable AVC on the receiver, this most certainly is not what disabling AVC on the transmitter does. To disable AVC you must do it on the receiver. There's a YT video for that and it's pretty simple to follow. After doing that, everything played nice. It's very responsive and was tested at a medium(ish) range from how far the OEM would reach...no problems. I can't speak on the max distance yet but I expect it to go as far at least. Had to mount the receiver on its side because the receiver box isn't big enough for it to mount down, this is fine but make sure you have it positioned where you can maximize the aux plugs room for later add-ons. Speed seems fairly accurate but the rollout must be adjusted for a more accurate reading (just doing the calculations doesn't make it 100% accurate from what i could figure out). Each model has its own rollout so watch some YT vids on how to calculate. I started, ran, and shutdown fully several short sessions and didn't have any issues with unbinding, throttle, breaking, steering, or settings being lost. Popped all batteries out and let sit overnight and all settings plus binding held. Seems of good enough quality in feel (I am not rough on my transmitters and if you are you might think about the rugged version) and expect it to last a long time. Would definitely recommend if you want a multi-bind transmitter and get the receiver combo if you want telemetry (they're cheaper as a combo).

I ordered this and the thumbwheel is almost too sensitive. Only really affects car setup - once that is done, it works amazing. Would have liked a dial for a couple trims instead of digital, but I am adjusting it differently.The AVC is amazing and the programming around that as well. I have a 1/16 scale buggy that I run on 2S and 3S LiPo and it needed to be tamed a tad. This provided all the programming I needed (expo for sure) and the AVC makes this car way more driveable. I was also able to turn down the throttle to pass along to a kid to "de-tune" the power - perfect!!The rcvr it came with SR6100AT is great, AVC works perfect, ergos are great. You may have to buy a USB cable to update software on this and the rcvr. Mine came with 1.8 sw and it is at 3.0 today.Zero regrets, would buy another - thumbwheel is not my favorite, I have other controllers from other brands that are far better. This is not only surface, but FPV drone and air...

I've got the DX5 Pro 2021 for the track and drift, but I hated taking it out to crawl or use a basher on the beach. However, using RTR radios sucks after getting used to nicer Futaba, Spektrum or the like. This is nearly everything the Pro is, but more easily replaced and not my main race radio.For what it is, I love it. All the features packed into a relatively light package with quality feeling adjustable controls.The reciever is incredible. Killer range and the best built-in gyroscope if set up properly I've ever used. Not as good as a standalone drift gyro ofc, but for my basher mojave in the dunes it's incredible. I've gone easily 1500 feet away down dunes and haven't experienced a stutter.

Seemed to work well except the telemetry voltage was off

If you race RC cars or boats you need a quality transmitter with fast reaction time (low latency) and one that will not glitch in noisy radio environments such as when 15 or so drivers are all controlling their vehicles. This transmitter has low latency and works flawlessly in noisy radio environments. A really good value and has all the features that a racer needs to make performance adjustments.

Lots of good features as expected from Spektrum. Only issue is all aux channel assignments reset when I go into the AVC menu on the transmitter. Seen this happens to other people online, haven’t bought the cord to update the firmware. A pain for my crawler, but don’t need AVC on my crawler anyway.

The remote itself seems okay. The receiver that came with this stopped working after one use. Cannot get it work anymore. So now I have to buy another receiver in order to use this item.
