We bought this for our 3 year old granddaughter to help her start to understand time management. When we set the timers she knows that when the sand moves to the bottom it will be time to do a thing: come inside, take a bath, get ready for bed, etc. Since we have started using the timers everyone's stress level has dropped considerably!

The media could not be loaded.  The hourglass has a few scratches, both on the hourglass inside and the protective layer outside. Otherwise, it is a great hourglass. When I timed it, it came in at 5 minutes and 3 seconds, which is just barely longer than 5 minutes. If a few scratches or it being just barely longer (in my case, at least) than the listed time, then you won't like this product. But if you are fine with that, it is a perfectly good hourglass!

My first review was censored 🤬 because the sand in the product “sticks” and I said it just wasn’t worth returning and suggest the seller send a replacement in blue. That didn’t go over too well, so here’s review #2:The sand sticks so the timer is unreliable. Also, the same item can be found for 25% less if you keep searching.Hope this helps and that it isn’t censored like the first review.

I'm editing this review after being contacted by the owners. The product itself did not work as expected. Being that it was inexpensive to begin with and with the hassle of shipping, I ordered a different option elsewhere and wrote the prior scathing review. To be honest, I got a bad one from the bunch and felt the need to balance the other reviews with an honest opinion.In hindsight though, I should have contacted the company first, but like many consumers the $'s weren't important to me; instead, letting the public know seemed "righteous'. Small companies rely on us and can be damaged significantly through a handful of reviews. On the other hand, we consumers rely on each other too. So while I contend honesty is important, next time I'll contact the company first and give them a chance. In the end, I don't want the $16 back. I do want to let everyone know to feel safe going with this company because they will make it right.Rumor has it they have responded to some of the negative reviews and are moving to a new manufacturer to improve the consistency of quality.cheers.
