After Dark Original: Asylum [DVD + Digital]

This movie looked decent from the previews, but the two guys' who are talking and making jokes through out the whole movie ruined it for me. It was basically a Mystery Science Theater 3000 knockoff. Even if the MST3K wannabes weren't in the movie, it would still be a stinky turd. I made myself finish watching since I paid for it, and it is pretty bad. Maybe the MST3K wannabes jokes actually helped this failed production? hmm dunno.

Complete waste of time & money. The footage shown in the trailer is NOT the movie. It is a film being watched by two morons who talk over the scary movie with stupid commentary and jokes. There are dozens of missing scenes with que cards to alert you to their absence. Everyone that rents this based on the trailer should get a refund because that is not the movie you are getting. Shame on After Dark films for this BS deceptive marketing technique to sell a "movie" you don't actually get to see!!!!!

What this movie is obviously a last ditch salvage attempt by the movie producers to turn a potentially bad movie into its own parody. The editors didn't even bother finishing the original film because the submitted cut was so unexpectedly bad, they apparently decided to make fun of its raw-cut through peculiar editor commentary shots while ironically admitting to creating a bait-and-switch trailer. It is understandable that any horror fan would be infuriated, but the shameless attempt is quite strange and comical at the same time. The trailer contained more special effects than the entire movie that only captioned the FX intents. I felt absolutely terrible for the actors who unwittingly participated and actually got made fun of by its own producers, but this was a memorable baffling viewing experience.

UN-freaking-believable. This "film" is a piece of garbage and the creators know it which is why they cut the trailer to advertise the movie as an action adventure with supernatural antagonistic forces. Instead th promised story, we have two editors MST3King the movie. This filmmakers should be ashamed for so blatantly misrepresenting their work. Sometimes you try something and it's not successful.. That's fine, pick yourself up and try something else,just don't try to fool me into paying for something when you know it's worthless. Again, the filmmakers should be ashamed.

After Dark, if you're going to compound an amazingly bad horror production by having the poor original screenwriter rifftrax it into a supposed comedy, the least you can do is not present it for rental with *the original horror synopsis and no mention of the voiceover presentation*.

After dark movies are usually pretty good I don't know what happened here. The previews make the movie look pretty good but when you go to watch it there are two sophomoric Idiots cracking stupid jokes throughout the movie. I don't know what Hollywood idiot came up with that scenario but I hope he was demoted down to toilet scrubber....

Boy i wish i had read the reviews before i fell for the trailer, someone should repay all who purchased this piece of garbage.
