I've had many ski racks over my 50 years... and this rack is very similar to my Thule rack on my other car. But I needed a longer ski rack for my truck.BUT KEEP THIS IN MIND:1. The lock is not as nice as the Thule, and the key will not come out when the lock is in the open position. The key will only come out when the lock is turned to the lock position.----- In other words, you will NOT be able to put skis in your rack and leave it unlocked.2. The hex head bolts rusted in one week of Oregon weather. I bought all new quality rust proof bolts for my unit and replaced them. It cost about $10.3. The first time I used it was in one of our typical northwest snowstorms. The lock froze shut! So be sure to "treat" your locks, and carry a couple lighters in your car to warm the key. Other than that, I love this rack! The Thule is a much more quality product, but if you're on a budget and/or don't care, then it is worth it! --Go for it!

Could use more washers/spacers.
It is easy to install. However, it did not come with enough washers/spacers for the clamps. I have a Mini and the crossbars are thick.

Easy to use. Transports skis well.
I like this product. It is definitely something I would buy again. I have used it on several 120 km ski trips, and I often find myself driving 130 km/h to 145 km/h over some stretches. On these ski trips, my rack usually holds a pair of skis and a snowboard. The ski racks have held up thus far without any issues.First, they are easy to install around cross bars. Be careful not to tighten the ski rack too much; you do not want to scratch up the cross bars. You really only need the ski rack's feet to be tightened to the point that the racks hold firmly on the crossbars. I have taken the extra precaution of putting pieces of rubber underneath the ski racks' feet. The ski racks' lock is also easy to use. I would not call it "secure" because you just need an Allen-wrench to remove the entire ski rack. However, if you are leaving your skis alone for a few minutes to stop at a rest area, the lock does deter the common thief. The lock also prevents the ski rack from opening while you are driving. When I first used the lock, it was a bit difficult to insert and remove the key, but once I used the key once or twice, my difficulties subsided. Note that you should hold the ski rack closed entirely in order to easily lock/unlock the ski rack. One thing I do not like is that the key seems non-standard. If I ever happen to lose the keys, I really hope a locksmith would be able to help me.Last, as advertised, when you have skis in the rack, the rack pops right open with the press of a button. In short, I really love these ski racks; they are much better than squeezing my wet skis into my compact car.

Just like a Thule! NOT!!!!
After reading other reviews I was really hopeful about this product. This product is a prime example of you get what you pay for.The plastic mounts that attach the rack to the car are both fragile and poorly made. They dont fit the rack snugly and I snapped one while trying to tighten it. When attached there is a ton of play, which is why I was trying to tighten it when i broke it. Everyone knows that if you have a rack in top of your car and its loose, its going to rattle. On top of that, the clamps attaching to the vehicle rack dont fit my rack, despite being advertised as universal fitting. I had to purchase different screws to fit my rack because the screws that were supplied were too long and ran out of thread.Someone had said this product was comparable to a thule rack. I really hope thule racks arw better than this, because this thing is junk.

Seems solid and secure. We’ll se how it holds up in sub-zero temps. Both racks lock which is nice.

Nice rack for the money.
One rack had a small chip seen in the pic, I Emailed seller about the issue and they were very responsive and and promised to send another out no charge! Easy install and the locks seem to work well, I've only had one snowboard on the rack but it works fine and looks good on my Jeep.

Fit 2008 Suburban with some modification
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. It will work but needed some modification to install without damaging the top of my car.The bolts were too long for my suburban. They didn’t hit the top of my car unloaded, but I could tell they would if I had skis on them and hit a bump.I recommend cutting the bolts and using some sort of thread glue to prevent the nuts from loosening.

Great alternative to Yakima and Thule!
I was going to get a Thule or Yakima rack, but after reading horror stories of them being cheaply made, and breaking while driving with ski's in them, I decided to get these.I think you can make little improvements to it, such as buying rubber washers for less movement, and different screws vs the standard hex screw (easy to steal), but overall it's great! I was able to hook it up on my racks easily, and they clamped 2 snowboards well.Funny thing, I was driving and saw someone with clamps very similar to this with "Thule" on it.Also, the customer service is great!

works great, very reliable
works great, redundant racks make it safe. I added two 12" camping bag compression straps to both of the racks (1 each) just to make sure they don't pop open. ski edges got surface rust though but came off after one run. good product for the right price. very reliable, no corrosion issues on bolts. Sturdy aluminum. Holds comfortably 4 adult ski pairs.

Ok
Easy to install, but under harsh weather, sucks and the roof rack opened on the highway even after locked

Underwhelmed
Product was very late getting delivered. When it finally arrived we noticed that we were missing parts (clamps), nuts and bolts. The quality of the parts seem decent, at best. Mostly plastic and thin metal parts. Not sure how it’ll handle the cold weather, snow, ice, salt, etc

qualité/prix ok
Je ne crois pas que le rack est fait pour 6 paires de ski , plutôt 4 paires.
