Instant heat inside. Not good for outside
Just arrived. Well packaged and shipped quickly. Cannot wait to hang this up. Turned this in inside the house my wife was sweating within about 30 sec from 5-6 feet away. I cannot wait to put this on the porch and see how it does further away. Heat can be felt within a few moments.Update: gave it a fair shot. Outside in 40degree temps this thing struggles to even fee heat over 3-4 ft away. Probably works well for inside but I was hoping it would provide some heat for the front porch. overall I am disappointed However if ur intention is for inside hearing r probably safe. Outside this is too weak to provide a good space heater.

Excellent heater
Received this heater yesterday. Fired it up on my covered deck in North Carolina this evening in chilly temperatures and it worked wonders keeping me warm as I enjoyed a cigar. Highly recommended. Easy instructions, high quality and plenty of heat. This isn’t going to heat your entire deck but the area immmediately around me received plenty of heat such that I had to turn it down to a lower output level. I would describe the heat output it as somewhat similar to sitting in front of my outdoor fireplace.

Made a huge difference on our back deck!
I've always known that infrared heaters were great in outside environments due to its ability to warm through a breeze, but this is my first time purchasing one. I was not disappointed. I even have a traditional plug in heater that inside is amazing but outside I have to huddled right next to it to feel any benefit from it. This infrared heater was like night and day in comparison. I can feel its effects on my skin from more than five feet away. This unit is definitely powerful and keeps all of us on our back deck warm.

Great heater unless temps are >10 degrees Fahrenheit
The heater was easy to install and even easier to use. The remote seems to only work when it is within 5 feet of the unit. You can feel the warmth from the unit within a few seconds which is great as it’s primary purpose is to warm up a small spot on my porch for smokers. The ONLY downside and it can effect those of us in the great white north, it doesn’t seem to work when the temps are less than 10 degrees Fahrenheit. This is going to be an issue as we have weeks of below zero days making the unit worthless on those bitter cold days. Contacted support and they too were unable to locate any documented “working” temp ranges other than it turns off when it gets to 125 degrees Fahrenheit. If other people are using theirs successfully in the cold let me know, maybe mine is defective 😁.

Suitable for a FL winter but not KS!
This arrived broken, with pieces of the glass tube rattling inside the "caged" area which holds the infrared tube.Aside from that, I was curious about how well it actually heated so, before returning the item, I gave it a test run. Let me just say that I have been researching outdoor patio heaters for quite some time now. People will say how great something works but fail to mention either that they are using it in a sunroom, inside, in a garage, etc., or the other important information that ALL factor into this product's worthiness, such as the OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE!I first tried this inside my home. I was within 2-3 feet of it and it felt hot (69 degrees in house). I live in Kansas and have recently hung 8 canvas panels in my gazebo with velcro sides to block wind and had hoped a unit like this would be enough to keep warm in 20-40 degree weather. It certainly does not warm the space, let alone me. I understand how infrared works, so I placed it on my patio table (remember, I was and did return this, so mounting wasn't an option. It took at least 5 minutes to feel any type of warmth from 4 feet away at 34 degrees with no wind. I don't want to go the propane route, though I am curently using a 2-burner propane topper and it is extremely effective. I am thinking at this point, the only way I'll feel decent heat with a 500/1000/1500w 120v heater is to find an indoor space heater that actually blows the heat vs the infrared methodology. The bang for your buck just isnt here on these products yet. Also, just a tip...wattage is wattage, so all these infrared products that vary from $5-$100 difference in price is a joke. Buy the cheap one...or decide there are enough features added, such as remote, stand, size etc. to make it worth the extra money.

Great Value! Do the Job
Get almost instant heat.I do have a water heater in my apartment, but the landlord capped the max temperature to save power. So I brought this heater, and it works well for my 500 ft2 apartment. Also, it has a remote control that helps me turn the thing off when I don't want too much heat.

Good heater
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I'm gonna use this electric heater for a new hammock I just set up outdoor. The operating cost of this electric heater is much cheaper than my big propane heater 48,000 BTU. The propane heater using 20 gallons tank will cost me at least $1-$2/hour depends on the flame, not to mention the hassles of refilling tanks. Meanwhile, this 1,500W electric heater will cost me around $0.08-$0.20/hour. However, at the highest setting, the heat produced from 1,500W heater is not as hot and as wide as my propane heater, so keep that in mind if you want to host a party. Build quality is solid, but the remote looks cheap. Another good point is that after letting it run for 5 mins, I touched the back of the heater and it's just warm, so I guess it will not melt anything on my patio roof (glue, sealant, ...).After unboxing, make sure to remove two BLACK rubber soles in the middle of the heater otherwise they will be burnt like mine.
