​I bought this ESAKO 40-2000X microscope for my 11-year-old daughter, who is completely obsessed with science, and it has been a massive hit! ​Perfect for the Curious Preteen. She was able to set it up and start using it immediately. The level of magnification (up to 2000X) is impressive, allowing her to go beyond simple school projects. She's been analyzing everything from onion skin and flower petals to insects. It strikes a great balance between being an educational tool and being genuinely fun. ​The quality and features of it is great value for money, it feels very sturdy with the metal body, not like a cheap toy. We especially appreciate the mechanical stage, which makes adjusting the slides so much easier, and the phone adapter is brilliant for capturing images and sharing her discoveries with us. The included slides were a perfect way to start. ​This is a high-quality, inspiring piece of equipment that fuels a love for biology and microscopy. Highly recommended for any student or young person interested in STEM!

For the price you won't get better. This is a really good microscope, it's sturdy, easy to use and has good optics. The instructions are very limited but it is really intuitive to use

Surprisingly good optics. Good value for money. Needs a good puff with a pressurised air duster coz some dust inside. Rubbish smartphone adapter that Is too big for the microscope. Could do with an eye piece lens dust cap. Eye piece lens a bit looser than I would prefer. Objective lenses are good and good range of magnifications. Upper and lower light sources very useful. Power supply included. A really nice microscope, disappointing that the smartphone adapter was so poor.

Always enjoyed using these when I was at school. Come forward 50yrs later (now 61), the interest is still there and decided to buy this one after reading several reviews. The build quality is first class and being metal, will last a very long time. I found it very easy to use. Even the course focusing was nice and amazing picture quality using the fine tuning knob. With all the accessories that come with this, make it extremely good value for Money and for those learning microbiology, this is brilliant educational value. Here are a couple of pictures I have taken. One is the Microscope itself. The other two are using the phone attachment with the x4 and WF10 lenses of a Mealworm you give to birds in their feed. I won’t be looking at food and drink I consume, as that would probably put me off everything I love eating and drinking. This is an extremely amazing piece of apparatus, that I highly recommend. In which, as a non-biologist myself, will enjoy hours of looking at things. Thanks for reading :)

Spent hours looking for a good microscope for my boyfriend's birthday. We managed to make it work pretty quickly. It's harder to get clear images when we get to x2000. Actually most of the times, we get the most impressive stuff around x1000 so now that I think about it I would have probably bought a good x1000 microscope but I didn't know much about the whole thing. As everyone says, the phone attachment is rubbish. You need to hold the phone and wiggle it a bit to manage to take a good picture. We tried several times and only manage to get this really nice picture. Also comes with loads of cool extras and a little case with prepared slides which were amazing to look at! But overall super happy. And with a £30 voucher discount, this still made it one of the cheapest I could fine so really pleased with my purchase! Can't wait to look through more things!

Since I don't have anything else to compair it to ? But its sturdy, works really well.. The slides that come with it are amazing to look at.. Can see blood cells easily , everything needs to be spotless clean for high magnification..but that would be normal

Great microscope for the price, easy to set up, simple to use, I bought it for my daughter who’s 13 and she’s getting a lot of use out of it. Excellent magnification, there are slides provided which are fascinating to look at. We’ve always studied plant cells, cells from inside the mouth, blood, hair, tiny ants, leaf skeletons , the list is endless. It’s really sparked my daughter’s curiosity. I researched lots of different microscopes and in this price range I’d definitely recommend this one. Comes with a nice little kit of slides, tweezers, pipettes, glass sample tubes etc,

The microscope is generally good you can cleary see blood cells and other microscopic things. However there seems to be so much dust inside the lenses that is obscures what you are trying to view. I assume it has been put together in a very dusty environment. I

The accessory for the mobile phone does not sit properly enough for the phone to stay put and properly focus. Other than that, it’s as advertised.

We’ve bought this as a present to our son, but me and my wife ended up using it more than he and his old brother do. It comes with 10 slides of various samples like insects/blood/etc. They are magnificent to trigger someone’s curiosity. After those, we’ve started picking other items to look at. Dirt is the most exciting, because it helps us discuss hygiene with our kid, using visuals.
