Perfect for book analysis.I got this book because I needed a nonfiction book for my book analysis and It is a book you can quickly read in a week or even a day.

I bought this for my daughter, and she loved it. Long after reading, she would bring up things she had learned while studying it. It prompted further discussion and definitely sparked her interest in reading more books like this.

Bought this for my granddaughter and started to skim it but couldn't put it down. The author dispels some of the myths surrounding Amelia. She has done her research, that’s for sure. There’s also much info given through inserts about the tech of the times which adds much depth to the understanding. I also appreciate the way she didn’t paint her as this perfect person but instead a real person with flaws and quirks! Can you tell this is a winner! PS, I’m a former librarian! :)

When I received this book I was surprised to see it was actually written for those between the ages of 8-12 which I had no idea when I ordered. With that being said, this is one of the best books I have read so far in the catagory of historical nonfiction. Unlike most historical pieces, this was not long-winded and overwritten, but had just enough history and materials on the pilot's life and journies to keep me interested and reading. The language is easy to understand, the pictures are amazing, the book is filled with backstories and informtaion on her life, flights and the search for her, as well as the importance of her status as a woman pilot in the time when women were expected to be wives and homemakers. The book iteself was in excellent condition and I got it for an amazing price, compared to the high price it was originally sold for in stores. I couldn't be happier with this book. Worth every cent.

Fleming does a superb job of pulling the reader into Earhart's story. The book is eminently readable and would make a good read-a-loud. Starting with Earhart's idyllic childhood and moving through the difficult years of Amelia's father's alcoholism, the author lets the reader see the forces that shaped the woman that Earhart became. Showing no judgements of Earhart, Fleming simply tells the facts as they are known and leaves the reader to make up his/her own mind about Amelia.Fleming does the seeming impossible by getting the reader so involved in the story that he/she somehow hopes the end of the story will be different than he/she knows it to be. The design of the book is sharp and easy to follow with photographs placed appropriately through out. Sidebars add interesting information about Earhart and the people around her. I highly recommend this book to those who love a good story and a fascinating piece of history.

Great book for school's book report

Very informative. A lot of information that I've never heard before. It was an easy read. I really enjoyed reading it and would read it again. I highly recommend it.

My daughter is in 5th grade and used this for a book report. She loved the story and learned so many new things about Amelia. It was a bit emotional for her to read about the disappearance but I think the book was well written.

I have always been fascinated with the Amelia Earhart story and this book ticks all the boxes. It's nice to read about her childhood right up to her disappearance. I so admired Amelia when I was growing up and her bravery gave me the courage to overcome some scary times in my life. She is such an inspiration I just wish they could find something of where her last resting place is so they can take her home and give her the burial she deserves.
