Excellent Value
Bought this knife for my son as a first hunting knife. Delivery was prompt, but the quality of the knife and the leather sheath was outstanding. I preferred a black leather sheath but this one in brown stands out from the quality of the materials, stitching and artwork embossed on the side. The knife itself is very well made and is clearly a version inspired by the classic Randal knife at a fraction of the cost and none of the waiting. We have yet to take it to the field so I'll have to update this review later with a test of the blade metal, but the edge was really good right out of the box, the packing and lubrication of the blade and the finish are worthy of a much more expensive knife. I'm very satisfied and may order another for myself. If you need a good knife for a great price try one of these!

Nice
I really like this knife but to be honest I bought it because I thought it had more of a Macv Sog blade profile. And mine is more like a Buck 124 profile with a bark river knife handle. It looks good and I use mine at work for light to medium duty. Holds a edge fine and sharpens up quickly so I have no complaints.

handle can be modified to a Randall border patrol or commando.
Sheath sleazy. not sewn well. other wise think knife blade is good.

Looks nice but fails in Quality. Returned it to Amazon
It looks good, but steel is way below average in quality. The blade is on the soft side, softer than almost any knife I own. where the blade narrows to go though the hilt it is only .4 inches. That is not much considering the blade itself is nearly 1.5 inches. The same transition is very soft. There is a video on youtube about another King knife that showed it breaking at the hilt. That made me want to test the blade, something I would normally not do. The transition bends surprisingly easy. I bent it back to straight and returned it to Amazon and got my refund. I guess it comes from Pakistan but there were no markings to verify that. Fit and finish was generally pretty good for a $50 knife. Unfortunately the heat treating is lacking. I even went back and did the same test on a few other knives in my collection. Even a 40 year old rat tail imitation survival knife was solid in the same test.If you want a cool Randell style for your wall or collection, buy it. But, if you want a knife that you can depend on, look elsewhere. For another $20 to $30 you can buy a K-Bar or similar combat knife. If you want a Randall style knife, look at the Blackjack Model 7.

Knife King Model 1 Custom Handmade D2 Steel.- A Very Good Blade
I collect high quality knives, when I saw that this knife was made from "D-2" tool steel , I wondered if the heat treatment and hardening was correctly done- I can honestly say that the metalsmith who worked my knife , knew what was needed to have the correct hardness and edge temper, I know because I myself worked as a metalsmith in Houston for 3 years, this blade is very sharp and holds it, after field dressing 3 wild game hens, it still has an edge that will shave (I do shave with a straight razor) I can't tell if it has a full tang, but the handle has not loosened at all- I would recommend this for anyone who wants a good blade at a very good price- D-2 steel is expensive to buy and to work properly

Best edge retention I've seen
This knife comes very sharp and holds the edge. Just to test it, I've whacked it into hardwood at least 40 good whacks. The edge was still razor sharp. I skinned a deer during archery season this year and I still haven't had to sharpen this knife. It holds an edge better than my Knives of Alaska knife, and my Kershaw. Best knife I've ever owned and the price is terrific!

Good knife for the money.
Things I like, blade shape, I've always been a fan of the Randall #1 blade shape, and this emulates that shape fairly accurately. Next like on the list is overall size, not too large not too small. Next I like the micarta handle material, its a durable and stable material for a knife handle and has an attractive appearance. Next would be the D2 blade material, while not the easiest to sharpen it has good toughness and reasonable stain resistance for a non stainless steel. And lastly on things I like, fit and finish, it is very well done on my example, and believe me I tried to find something to complain about, there's just nothing there to criticize.OK, that brings me to things I don't like. First the handle profile, in the pictures of it, it looks to have a more rounded profile, where in fact it's much more rectangular. Not uncomfortable by any means, but I'd still like a little more roundness to it. Next would be the factory sharpness, usable out of the box,it needed a little touching up on the hone to get it proper. Last would be the sheath, everyone's favorite thing to hammer on. To be fair most factory sheathes leave a lot to be desired, main complaint about this one is the unnecessary embellishments on it, it would look much better left plain, and I'd like to see a square tip on the sheath ,to make it ambidextrous (I'm left handed) that being said,it holds the knife securely and protects the user and the blade. It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway, don't store this knife in the sheath for extended periods of time,it will stain your blade. Hope this helps someone.

It takes a long time to arrive.
Craftsmanship is excellent; micarta grip needs a little more texture in case of wet hands, and the sheath is a bit overdecorated; but overall it is a keeper. Note that it may take a long time for delivery. My original order got lost in transit, but the seller made up for it in its replacement. Good seller response.
