Makes fitting easy
Easy to use and functional.Having to replace a broken breakaway cable can be a problem if the fixing is too big to thread through the opening on the trailer. These breakaway cables are great because they have a carrabina at each end.

They'll do the job, just.
First off, to the muppets writing bad reviews about these.. this item is designed to pull the brake on your trailer in the event it breaks loose from the hitch, nothing more. Not tether it to your vehicle. They will definitely do that, but after they've done that once you'll need a new one.

It’s value for money but the cable is quite thin. I will keep as a spare for my horse trailer. but looking to buy another with a thicker cable to match the one that came with trailer. I am not a mechanic, so like to use the same quality as came with trailer.

Buy what you know !!!
Only given 3 stars as I found this to be very small size cable compared to my original, I know it’s purpose is to snap at the required tension…but , it doesn’t fill me with confidence when I see how thinner it is . Just my thoughts on this … ?

Important to check caravan and tow ball before towing and always carry a spare cable !
Appears to be well made and was easy to clip on. The factory unit on the tow bar since caravan was new in 2016 had been well used on approx 120 rallies at home and in Europe, had to be sawn off, when leaving the C &CC site at Kingsbury Water Park after 7 days earlier this month. I had not attached the tow bar properly to the tow ball, I only went 6 or 7 feet, What A bump and bang, the caravan made hitting the ground, breaking the tow bar cable. The wardens heard it 150 yds away and came running to help. They kindly fitted the spare that I carried.
