Better Quality WIFI experience, compared to Orbi and others I have tried at the same price point....
Having used Netgear Orbi, ASUS and other consumer devices for whole home WIFI, and having my life dominated with problems and user complaints, WIFI drops and other 5Ghz devices suffering due to 5Ghz interference, I decided to move to a better product. Ubiquiti did not disappoint. 50+ WIFI devices and everything is happy. No drops, excellent and quality WIFI performance. 20+ days of connections and no drops….WOW!Extensive access to advanced features allowing me to tweak, tune, optimize, my WIFI to my environment’s specific needs. Excellent user interface. Very informative with useful information allowing me to QUICKLY make decisions. Integrated with the entire Ubiquiti Unifi product line.Anyone concerned about the lack of Wireless Backhaul support. Unifi APs do support wireless uplinks, but you do take a performance hit. My solution was to go with MOCA 2.0 for my home. If you can place the Unifi APs near a COAX connection….Then use Moca 2.0 and you will have 1Gbe wired links to all your APs. Then you get great speeds and low latency and stability. My only Dream Machine “complaints” are….(Hence the 4 stars)Cannot disable NATCannot disable WAN (I use Sophos for my Firewall and I have 10Gbe links which I REQUIRE). Sorry, 1Gb is not enough for todays heavy network environments, even at home. Ubiquiti does not yet make a 10Gbe gateway Unifi product.Does not support Dual WAN ability,. It is becoming more common for home users and small business to have two ISPs.DHCP needs some improvements. I cannot see DHCP leases. The "Client" screen is cool, but does not show me my wired devices.Overall, Ubiquiti does make one DAMN FINE network product. I will buy more Ubiquiti Unifi products, when they decide to make them.Ubiquiti Wish List:Unifi USG with 4-8 10Gbe ports. Dual WAN. $1000 price point. I don’t need the fancy LCD screen.Unifi Layer-3 24-Port Switch. I don’t need 48 ports. Maybe a smaller 16 port 10Gbe layer-3 or layer-2 copper switch. You made a 16 port 10Gbe, but then I need to buy SFPs for all ports. The world has not yet gone FULL FIBER……Still need copper….Smaller 8 port 1Gbe layer-2 switch with a 10Gbe Uplink. Around $300.

Great all in one (but AP is not very strong)
I am home user, and found this to be a great product. It was introduced only a few months before I purchased it.It is very easy to set up. Plug and play, in fact. The user interface is top notch - easy enough for someone with very little network experience.Very easy to set up wireless networks, as well as guest networks. The app allows you to monitor your network away from home, and even make changes. My home system consists of the Dream Machine, four Unifi 8-port switches, and two AP Pro access points. The AP Pros have a far greater reach than the AP in the Dram Machine. The GUI allows me to name all of the clients on the network, and instantly see the topology of the network graphically.I can easily identify clients that I don't recognize, and remove them from the network. It includes intrusion detection (IDS) as well as active intrusion prevention (IPS).Also includes real time deep packet inspection (DPI) as an option.I have 400mbps service from my ISP. Turning both DPI and IPS on along with highest firewall protection imparts a 10%-20% hit.Free 24/7 online help is available. Expect to wait 45min online for help.Ubiquiti is a solid company that has been around for a long time. What sets them apart is the easy to use interface. No command line interfaces to deal with. No difficult setup. It just works. There are tons of online videos to help you through anything you don't understand. The one thing I found strange was that most Unifi equipment has PoE, but the Dream Machine itself does not. I don't see that as a big downside. Just unusual.

Overpriced and Does Not Work At All For Remote Work
I work remotely over the internet. So I have to always be logged into a computer remotely. Little did I know the dream machine suffers from intermittent internet cut off. You would not notice unless you work remotely. Many many others on the forums report the same problem. This makes my productivity drop to less than 50%. I greatly greatly regret this purchase. Completely overpriced. Thanks to the short return policy time I am stuck with this. I am selling it and going back to Linksys.

Most excellent, but....
Really had high hopes for the UDM. I currently run two HD routers in wired backhaul. I get amazing range from the two of them and my throughput is right at my speed limit of 500/500 at all times. Setup was simple (as all Ubiquiti products are) and the flexibility is incredible. I learned that the throughput and range are more important to me at this time than than the flexibility.

It's Ubiquiti! They make great products
Definitely a great product. Moved from a USG Pro 4 to this Dream Machine. Since it was in the early GA release there were a few minor bugs, however after a few months with firmware updates, those bugs have gone down. It is perfect, especially IPS/IDS Throughput of about 850.

The best prosumer router for the money
As a network engineer I deal with Cisco gear on a daily basis. I believe this is as close as you can come to the quality of Cisco at home without the high Cisco price or complexity.

Best gear on the market, no regrets
Look out Cisco! Better gear and more user friendly, Ubiquiti is coming for the top spot. Love all their products, but the dream machine is hard to beat for value for money

Super compra
