Has worked great for me
Has worked great for me. Always nice to have a little extra security. Cable is long enough to lace through all kinds of junk you haul around. Then retracts neatly and stores out of the way.

Good product overall - 15' ToyLok Retractablke Cable Lock
I purchased the 15' ToyLok to install it on our recently purchased fifth wheel trailer. We use it to secure our bicycles near the back end of the trailer. I was already familiar with the ToyLok cable lock as one came with our former toy hauler. We like the lock as it's easy to use and has more than enough cable to lock up our bikes, running the cable through the wheels and frames. It also came with a padlock. You can pull out the length of cable needed then with a slight jerk, the cable will hold in place. The install was straight forward drilling two holes in the trailers I-Beam frame and running the two supplied bolts through the lock body and 1/4" steel frame. The bolts are secured by cleverly designed aluminum fasteners; when the aluminum nut and its attached cone shaped piece are fully tightened, the nut part breaks away leaving the cone to hold the bolts. I gave four stars as the body of the lock is plastic and not metal.

DO NOT BUY THIS. GARBAGE.
Garbage product. Worked one time then broke. I bought it in March, attached to trailer in Summer, used first time in Fall. It broke and wouldn't retract. Amazon wouldn't cover it, Camping Connection as the seller through Amazon wouldn't replace it (past 90 day warranty), Lippert as the manufacturer wouldn't replace it as it was past their 90 day warranty. DON'T BUY IT. A waste of $70.

Helpful advice
I bought a 2014 Toy Hauler that had it already installed, used lock one year, this year it broke. I emailed address from previous customer and they sent me a new on free of charge even though out of warrantee. Old one was full of water so I looked for a place to come in. On the back in the middle is a hole plus around the cover. I caulked it up this time plus will keep cable retracted all the time when not in use. Looks like water can get inside when cable is extended. Other than that, it's a good idea and I like it. We will see in time if caulking helps.

Very handy when it works. The cable retractor spring broke while still under warranty. Multiple calls to all involved parties, no resolution. I ended up tossing the ToyLok in the trash.

poor quailty
the toylok came on my new toy hauler (2013). after about a year the cable pulled out and wouldn't retract. so I emailed [email protected] and explained my situation, the sent me a new one. after returning home I disassembled the broken one. (be careful if you try to disassemble one of these they have a recoil spring that is wound tight) come to find out the spring was broken in several places. the spring material is of poor quality. would I purchase one of these NO. I hope they have revised there spring material

Failed
I really liked the concept of this device as it cuts down on clutter in our RV not having to carry around another cable. However, the system worked only a couple times for us before the internal spring broke and the system would not retract anymore. This was factory mounted on our toy hauler and we were camping when it broke so we had to wrap the cable around the stabilizing legs of the RV until I could get home and grind the mounting hardware off the Toylok in order to remove it. Again, great idea! But poor quality material.
