Citristrip Paint & Varnish Stripping Gel - 1/2 Gallon

I bought the Citristrip Stripping Gel and the Citristrip Stripping Aerosol Spray. The Citristrip product worked well on, but the Aerosol Spray was much easier to use. The spray might be more expensive, which is why I also bought the gel, but I didn't waste near as much product with the spray can. I lost of the gel product because it clumped up on the brush as I was applying it, which made getting a good even coating difficult. I had to use a lot gel to get good coverage. Some areas were really thick and clumpy, while others would have a thin coating. I went through a lot of brushes trying to eliminate the clumping, which only worked for a couple of strokes. The uneven coating also made removing the product difficult because the areas with a thin coating were drying way too fast. It was a mess. The Aerosol Spray worked great, was easy to apply an even coating quickly and eliminates the need for multiple brushes. I used the aerosol spray on a bamboo cane chair and it worked great. I used the gel on a wood bench and it took forever, was a huge mess and the result was not near as nice as the aerosol spray.

This stuff is amazing! So easy to use. It smells really great!Took the paint right off of a shiplap wall that had 3 coats of paint.I did two sessions with it only because the paint on the wall was soooo thick.You brush on a medium amount, leave it for 15-30 minutes and then take a paint scraper and it comes off so easy!I bought this for a 8.5'x12.5' wall and it didn't even use half.

I used this product to remove oil based paint from two sets of French doors. Worked much better than the harsh stuff and I didn't feel like I was damaging my lungs in the process. Just don't be in a hurry. I would put a very thick layer of citristrip on and cover with plastic and leave overnight. The next morning the paint came right off. The only area that took more work was the molding around the window panes. I will buy citristrip again if I have to strip anything else.

Ok ...so if ur bathtub was painted by some pro or by chemical. ..this thing u let it sit fpr like 6hours. And all will come off ..a bit messy but works 100

It works very well to remove layers of paint. You have to time it right, it either removes too little or it dries and doesn't work. Many layers need to be applied for all paint. The big size bottles have a gel more liquid than the small ones, and it's more difficult to apply and to stay.

I am a novice at wood refinishing. I had been recommended to purchase this product by a freind. It was easy to find on line and I love working with it. Easy and fast. Great quality product.
