My daughter loved it, but it was a bit too easy.
Lots of pros to this workbook! Bright pages, fun activities, and a good start to math basics for young children. And perhaps the most important... my daughter really enjoyed doing it and didn't see it as work at all.The one major con? This was way too easy for my daughter who is going into Kindergarten this fall. While my daughter is bright, she is nothing exceptional yet she finished this entire book in 6 weeks, and it's not as if her pre-K program was this fantastic, advanced program or anything. There is a TON of activities related to shapes.... literally half the book in different ways such as shape sets, shape sorting, shape patterns, 3D objects, etc. They also cover counting to 5, counting to 10, patterns (pictures, shapes, numbers), same/different, ordinal numbers, sorting (including Venn diagrams... very cool!), location words, measurement (length, weight, volume), and basic maps. All great, but no numbers to 20, no introduction to addition and subtraction concepts, and even with all of that material on shapes, nothing beyond square, rectangle, triangle, and circle.... all things that I know are covered in my kids' (common core) Kindergarten curriculum. While it was OK for our needs to have some math basics to prep for Kindergarten, I can't imagine this being used as a review after Kindergarten has already been completed.

Fabulous book!
This book is fabulous! It’s exactly what I wanted for my my 5 year old! It’s beautifully laid out with age-appropriate activities! I knew I wanted color but I didn’t want busy-looking pages. This book is truly perfect. My son turned 5 early August and is homeschooled. I consider him pre-k level but advancing quickly toward a K level. There’s no rush for us however! I want him to grow in so many ways besides age wise before we move on. I feel like this is very age-appropriate math for a 5-6 year old kiddo. My son loves it! He loves to color so he enjoys the lessons very much where he gets to color. We keep our lessons short — usually 3-4 pages — but he often asks for more because the lessons/activities are quick and he loves doing them. I highly recommend this book! Exactly what I wanted for this school year!

great color pages and images
We use these to supplement our home school activities. Very clear, concise instructions, great color pages and images, answers in the back, such a wonderful resource, especially for the price. I DO wish the pages were perforated, that is about the only complaint I have. The past 2 years we have used these, I just take an evening and gather all the Sylvan books we have bought and take a couple hours tearing out the entire book being careful not to rip pages in half as it can be easily done if in a hurry, hole punching it and storing it in a 3 ring binder. That way, all year I do not have to be tearing out X amount of pages per day or week etc. and they are all handy and ready to go. I would pay extra to have them perforated! haha But despite the extra work (which technically isn't all completely necessary but we've found it impossible to use without at least tearing out the pages) I still highly recommend these lesson books.

Purchase Super Math Success Rather Than Basic Math Success
I purchased both Basic Math Success and Super Math Success to use with my homeschool kindergarten curriculum. The activities in Kindergarten Basic Math Success were designed to help children catch up, keep up, and get ahead in basic math skills. From Sylvan Learning, the 128-page full-color workbook includes sections on numbers; sorting, classification, and patterns; geometry; and measurement. The workbook was designed to be completed one page a day, but my daughter typically completed larger chunks as review. However, I did not realized that Kindergarten Super Math Success, which I also purchased to supplement our lessons, included the full Basic Math Success. Super Math Success also includes games, puzzles, and additional shapes and geometry. I suggest purchasing only the Super Math Success to avoid duplication of material.

Good book
Good for prek. Super easy for her but I like it because she can practice following instructions and that’s what kindergarten is about reading and following instructions

Perfect for my preschooler
I got my daughter ther 1 st grade book to test it out. She is still in kindergarten and that book made me want to get my preschooler son this book. It is perfect for him because he knows how to add and subtract but has difficulties writing numbers. This is perfect for that.

Good value
My 4 year old daughter loves doing math so we like this book. Some pages are pretty easy, especially since it is made for kindergarten. There are too many shape pages in my opinion as my daughter already knows the basic shapes that this book covers a lot. All in all I feel the book is worth the cost.
