Worthy Addition to the Literature
A thorough treatment of the subject. This book contains research-supported advice for making assessment matter. The thesis of the book is that assessment becomes consequential when it addresses questions that matter to the faculty and the institution. Conducting assessment to answer important questions, the authors contend, will take care of compliance. Chapters address the roles of various campus leaders in assessment as well as the potential audiences to which assessment results must be communicated. This book is a worthy addition to the literature on the vexatious topic assessment in higher education.

The chapters are very organized, and the authors have a writing style that is easily followed. They also go into depth of evaluation or assessment compliance in higher education, which provided great solutions!

Disappointing as a textbook
I purchassed this for a possible text to add to my requirements to teach assessment in higher ed. The reading was rough going for me, and I know assessment, have used assessment in practice for 20 years, and have taught assessment to graduate students for 8. I would not expect my students to be able to digest this.
