Cute Birds to Make with Needle Felting: 35 Clearly Explained Projects with Step by Step Instructions

The author shared her needle felting techniques of making some very cute and colorful birds. This book is very good for the confident beginner needle felter, looking to Improve skills in making birds. One previous reviewer stated that there were not instructions in making a kingfisher or hummingbird. Actually, the author showed her picture of her kingfisher on page 24, with her instructions on page 69. The author provided no real picture of a hummingbird or instructions. But, that was all probably only an error by an editor or translation into English, I suppose. The book is actually very good. I recommend it.Another needle felting book that I highly recommend, is A Masterclass in Needle Felting Dogs, by the rather famous needle felting artist, Cindy-Lou Thompson.I received that book this past month, after ordering it from a 3rd party seller that Amazon referred us to use. But, now, Amazon plans to have the Needle Felting Dogs book available for us in the United States on Dec. 15, 2020! That is wonderful, because this book is fabulous for the advanced beginner to intermediate needle felter, looking to Improve skills in making dogs. The author was kind enough to share her skills in making armature, and special techniques in making eyes and nose and feet, and much, much more.So, if you are interested in improving your skills in needle felting, I recommend these 2 books. Both now available to order on Amazon. Needle felting is overall very relaxing and a fun and creative activity. These 2 books may possibly be great gifts for you to drop off to your friends or loved ones this coming Holiday season, for them to maybe use during this long, Covid19 winter, when living rather isolated at home. Could be fun gifts for yourself or for others. I am pleased that I have both books and both books are quite useful and enjoyable.

Very good directions and photos, I even successfully completed a few of the birds and I am a beginner. She shows how to create different sized basic bird bodies in detail which is great for creating your own variety. She then goes on to show you how to create quite a few specific birds from sparrows to flamingos. Would recommend this book for anyone interested in needle felting some beautiful birds.

I'm not ever sure the birds are cute. I've seen better. But this book would be great for a beginner and it's a book with good instructions.

I wanted to learn to make felt animals so I was excited to get this book on little birds. It has so many great ideas and even the background in the images, helps to figure out how ti situate my little birdies-once I make them. Really nice book if you want to felt animals and love birds!

I'm new to needle felting and love birds. I saw this book and was thrilled at all the different types of birds in it. The pictures and instructions are helpful and informative. Wonderful for new and seasoned felters!

Just got this book and I think it is one of my favorites. Lots of cute projects and the instructions are good. Maybe not for the beginner, but a must have for your library.

There are many needle felting books out there. This one held my attention on every single design. It is clearly laid out and inspirational - usually there are only a few designs in a book that I'd like to make. This one is full of them.

I bought this book on the basis that the felt artist sells her birds in department stores in Japan, so I presumed she would be good. How wrong I was, this book is so basic with very simple and unhelpful instructions. The birds look unrealistic and to be honest are more cartoon like than realistic. I found it a complete waste of money, there are far better books available that have easier and more comprehensive instruction, which give you better results. Save your money and don't buy this childish interpretation of needle felted birds.

While the eaxt shapes to make a bird are very similar, this book does at least give some useful pointers to distinguishing features and colouring, to help your creations look as real as possible

Lovely book with easily followed steps. Ideal for beginner.( which is me ) once you master basic bird shape the possibilities are endless

Good step by step instructions, but I did find myself flipping from colour pics at front of book to specific bird instructions to another page where it gave more details on how to do certain things, so yes I had to flip through the pages a lot, but all the information you need is in here. I'm two birds in and very pleased with this book.
