Stopped working one day after return windows closed.
I have used this item for about 3 hours since I bought it. It stopped working today. I put in new batteries but the motor would not turn unless I turned it by hand first. Then when it started it had no power, the slightest touch on a piece of wood caused it to stop. As it is one day after the return window closed, I do not expect to have any response from the seller. Waste of money.

Bit falls out when in use
My engraving tool does not work properly, the tool holder is not fixed in and falls out of the body when I apply any pressure on the part with the tool

As an artist and designer, I have tried many different mark making tools in the past. They started out as pens, markers, and other traditional tools, but lately I have been experimenting more with mixed media. Wood burning, glass etching, ceramics and illustrations in the clay, and more. Out of the different tools I have used in the past, this pen engraving tools was one of the easiest to get used to. It felt natural in hand, but for a slight grip adjustment to be able to hold the button down. Even that minor adjustment was not a big deal, because the button is in such a place as to not be hit accidentally. I especially appreciated the stencil pack that the product came with. There was more stencils than I originally expected, and they included decorative elements, serif letters, roman numerals, and even social media icons! I’ve tried it on a couple different materials, but I was surprised bow well it worked on glass! I have engraved glass before, as a gift a few years ago. This engraving with the easy etcher had much more contrast with the glass and showed up a lot better than my previous designs. I even used the stencils on an old candle jar I repurposed for a drinking glass. Rubber bands to hold it in place worked wonderfully! Overall, a product of good quality, especially for the price. I will be using it for a lot of gifts and projects down the road.

Not good for heavy duty stuff but better for smaller lighter pieces

I gave this product to a family member, as a gift, as she is VERY CREATIVE. The IDEA of an engraving pen is so intriguing, however this specific one was cheaply made. It lasted her for 2 small projects and then just stopped working all together. I would suggest another Seller for this item.

Stopped working after 10 minutes. Did not send it back because too much trouble for the price I paid for it.

I was looking for an engraver that was easy to use and not cumbersome. I have a Dremel and a Bosch multi tool but they’re really bulky for when I want to do something “refined” on a material like writing my initials or doing a design. I have little hands and I just feel like a clutz with those. I gave this engraver a try due mostly to it being very portable and looked like it could just be held like a pencil. The engraver comes in easy to open packaging (if you’ve bought stuff on Amazon before, you know why this is important 😊). The directions are a one pager on the back of the package and concisely written. It uses 2 AAA batteries and comes with two engraving tips (they’re the same tip, one is just a replacement). There is also a tiny screwdriver to use when you switch out the tips. I switched out the tips and it is literally like a 20 second process, very smooth and easy. I was correct in thinking that this engraver would be easy to use – you do hold it just like a pencil and “write” your initials on whatever you like. I tried it on a wooden bowl that I wanted to put my initials on and it worked great. I didn’t have to press very hard and it makes very little mess if any (just some dust I wiped off with my finger). It isn’t super loud either. The sound is kind of like a very pissed off gnat 😊 It also comes with a set of stencils which I used on the bowl as well to engrave a little lotus flower just to see what that would look like. I also used it to engrave my initials on my favorite Stanley tape measure because it seems to “walk off” on its own and I mysteriously find it in my relatives’ houses. In any event, I like this little engraver because I can just grab it and engrave something within seconds and it takes up no space in the craft room. A little advice – always do some testing on something you don’t really care about (a scrap piece of wood, metal you don’t care about, etc.). As with all crafting stuff, you need to feel your way with the tool before you go full bore on a material that matters to you.
