First, I did not get this camera for free unlike (it seems) everybody else on this review page - I bought it on sale at an Amazon "Todays Deal". It's a decent GoPro knockoff and I am having fun with it! I use it as a dash camera in my car and recently when I went hiking with the kids. It works well as a dash cam (I use a 16GB card). I set it to "loop movies" and then used a micro-USB cable to connect it to a USB power outlet in the car. When you start the car you have to tap the "record" button on top but that's it. If you forget hitting the "record" button ... it won't record unlike some other dedicated car dash cams. As a dash cam it will turn off when it runs out of battery (recording 10min movie clips until then). It's ready to record more once you re-start the car and hit the record button again. It does forget the date/time stamp if it runs out of battery - bummer!. As an action camera I love all the accessories, high quality clips, ties, waterproof case, and attachments. The WIFI function does not work one bit for me but that's also not a deal breaker for me. I love the wide-angle lens that captures a ton of the surrounding. The kids love the high quality movies! The colors are pretty good and detail is impressive. I retrieve movies by plugging the micro-SD card into an an adaptor and then pushing it into my Mac - it comes right up and I can edit the movies or take screen shots of the best images. Overall, a great lil' entry level GoPro knockoff. I would not leave it in a hot car! If you get it on sale -- go for it! ... used it daily for almost 3 weeks so far and slowly getting used to all the menu functions.

Now that I have used the camera for a few weeks, I will comment that for my purposes it is convenient and useful. I use it to video my dog training sessions for review later, and also for uploading for online classes. It has a very wide angle lens, rather fisheye, so it is very useful for video'ing in tight quarters where you can't set the camera back very far. Some people might not find the fisheye effect acceptable, it depends on the purpose. In order to hear the audio, you must remove the camera from the waterproof case. Which is fine for me because I am not using it in high-impact, wet conditions. or my uses, I am very happy with the camera.---------About a week later, I am editing this review. I returned the unit below, and got a new unit already. I am changing my rating fro 1 to 5 stars. The new camera works fine, and confirms to me that the first one was defective. I was pleased with the support provided by the seller, who tried to help me make the first one work, but it just had to be returned. I just got the second one, and took a few test videos, and uploaded them to my laptop, and they seem very nice, and just what I needed. I appreciate the nice attitude of the seller, they tried to please.--------I am disappointed because this camera did not work. The battery was very hard to insert, almost seemed like it might be the wrong battery. The camera should take 3 hours to charge. It did not charge overnight. It would not turn on. Power button had no response. I am returning it. I would like to try another one, but discouraged.

I consider action cams as gimmicks and didn't want to shell out a lot for a real GoPro. This seemed close enough and for the price worth a shot.Both while scuba diving and filming ashore into the night time produced excellent and much better than expected results. I just have to figure out how to easily color adjust underwater footage but that's an issue for all cameras. Customer service is surprisingly responsive (and amusing...) I emailed to get the latest firmware. They were somewhat suspicious why I would ask for such a thing, and after some polite back and forth would provide it under the condition that I install at my own risk - fair enough :-)Overall this thing by far exceeds my expectations. The one negative is power consumption. My guess is it lasts somewhere from 60 - 90 min, which is somewhat annoying when boat diving as one has to open the case and swap the battery in between dives, which always adds risk to have it flood later on. Didn't happen fortunately.

This is a great little camera. It is not going to work for what I bought it for, but that is my fault. I wanted to video my hunts, so I got it to attach to my rifle. However, the camera is very wide angle so it catches a great picture of what is close to you, but there is no way to zoom, so if I shot at something 50 yards away, it would be too small on the video. The camera itself is still very nice. I am going to keep it for other stuff. It has an app that I put on my Android phone that controls it like a remote. It also came with several attachments so that you could put it on just about anything. I recommend the camera.

Item is a good buy for a small GoPro style camera. Numerous additional brackets for just about any type of mounting came with it. I would suggest you watch the video provided to see how all the brackets are used for. Had issues with the micro SD card initially. The card wouldn't click into place and I had a problem trying to get it out (had to use tweezers to remove), but after a few times of inserting and removing it seems to work smoothly. I did have an issue with shipping - item was ordered on Thursday evening and didn't arrive until Tuesday even as a "Prime" shipping item, so seller isn't in a hurry to get it shipped.

This camera exceeded my expectations! I was not expecting the level of quality at this price point. I purchased this as a gift for my 13 year old nephew - he absolutely loved it! The included accessories and picture quality make this a great value and perfect to give as a gift. Even though I purchased this for my nephew, it does not seem like a toy, it would be a great gift for any age person who would be interested in a sport cam. Very happy with my purchase.
