Very useful
has a strong light at the center and a soft halo around it that makes it very easy to see pupil dilation. it may seem a little expensive, but the built quality battery life and overall is worth it, comes with 2 LED, one white light and the second is warm light.

Good product engraving does not fade
Bought time for work, mm of perrla noted hasn’t faded. The button is secure so it doesn’t turn on by itself . Great product

Works great for EMS.
This pen light is perfect for EMS use for diagnosis of the pupils and also can be used as a flashlight in low light rooms where patients are found. The push button on/off is much better than the standard exam lights as it stays on without having to compress the clasp.

Does what is intended, but tint isn't right for me
This does exactly what it is supposed to - it functions as a close-in inspection light with a tightly confined beam. I bought this specifically for medical purposes, really to inspect my mouth or other body parts in detail, with some thought on using it for circuits and engines. For these uses, the light has an ideal size, profile, and brightness. This is not an EDC light; I would not use this for general utility, it is far too dim for that. This -is- a close inspection light, and can function as a basic general-purpose light in a pinch. The simplicity of having one mode and one mode only works fell for a light of this kind. The LED puts out - so far as I can tell - a clean-edged, perfectly consistent circle. The xenon bulb is still confined but has a small hotspot/spill. The CRI is okay with the LED, and theoretically perfect with the xenon. The tint is around 3000K - which just isn't to my taste, personally speaking. I much prefer 4500k or thereabouts. I thought with the high CRI I could ignore this, but I think it influences the color reproduction too much. For example, when inspecting canker sores, neither bulb was perfect, though the xenon was understandably superior.Other than that, I'm not a huge fan of the design, it's sort of industrial and bulky for something which is ostensibly designed for medical purposes. It's a quibble. Otherwise, I would recommend as a close-inspection light, if you don't mind the tint. Otherwise, I'd recommend looking for a different penlight.

Highly recommend
Amount of light is perfect for medical examination. This light is not meant for tactical applications and therefore not near as bright as a tactical flashlight. Plenty of light for an oral examination, but not so bright that it bothers my patients during examination of their pupils. Solid construction. On/off switch has good tactile feedback and there is no slop in the switch mechanism.

Well built for professional use
This pen was what I was lacking in my scrubs at work each day. Having your choice of bulbs is great, and it provides perfect lighting for examination as well as general use. Very sturdy and solid, with a solid click for activation. Well worth the cost.
