Tuttle Pocket Korean Dictionary: Korean-English English-Korean Kindle Edition

Fantastic dictionary!!! I'm currently in Korean 2 and I wish I had this in Korean 1. It is such a life saver at home and in class. If you have hands the size of quarter-back or volleyball player it's literally the dimensions of your palm only - no fingers! Highly portable, light and sturdy.The first 204 pages are Korean - English and page 205-559 is English to Korean. Also, searching for Korean words to translate into English that you don't know is simple, because the Korean side is listed phonetically so if you can approximately sound out or somewhat spell the Korean word you can find it quickly!All I can say is, I hope I can find this dictionary version in Japanese, because 18-months from mow I'll be in Japanese 1

Great small dictionary that you can travel around with easily. Has both Hangul and Romanization included.

This goes GREAT with Elementary Korean 2nd Edition. I personally love it and after 3 weeks of using this to help with my studies I have easily grasped Korean. It's also small enough to fit in my pocketbook.

I echo what the poster above wrote. This dictionary cannot be used for touchscreen look up korean words. The Tuttle learners dictionary is also a failure in this regard as is every other Korean dictionary that I have attempted to get to work with my paperwhite

This really is a pocket dictionary in the sense it will fit in your pocket. Despite its small size both the Korean-English and English-Korean sections are very readable.The Korean-English is based on the same author's Tuttle Learner's Korean-English Dictionary. It omits most of the occasion notes as well as the examples and Chinese characters (hanja) for Sino-Korean words, and the Romanization is somewhat simplified, but it contains the same words (as well as some additions). So if you regularly use the larger dictionary, as I do, you will know will have a good idea of what you will find - and maybe not find - in this dictionary.I am not sure of the source for the English-Korean section, but it is definitely not simply a reversed version of the Korean-English section. The English head-words have their own simple (generally one or two words) English definitions as well as Korean equivalents (in Romanization and hangul), which make it clear what the words are and, in the case of words with multiple senses, serve to distinguish the senses and make it clear how the Korean equivalents match to the senses. The coverage feels about the same as the Korean-English section and the words have clearly been selected in a principled way probably using (but not slavishly following) frequencies in a variety of general texts.This is a great Korean-English English-Korean dictionary. Vocabulary is limited but not small (7000-8000 entries on each side) and is carefully chosen to maximize coverage of everyday Korean and English.

Useless as a Kindle default dictionary, since it is index by phonetic and not actual 한글.

I like it!Very readable as it's clear and not a hard font to read. Pocket size, although may bulge out which may be uncomfortable (not a problem for me though).Very good for beginners because it has romanticized Hangul and characters in Hangul.

This is the second pocket dictionary I ordered. The first one, Collins, was a disappointment. The Korean portion was difficult to use and the print is very small. The Tuttles has larger print and is much easier to use. Its been my standby ever since it arrived.

Loved it! though I thought it would be a little bit bigger but content wise it is very useful.
