VERY GOOD QUALITY AND EASY TO INSTALL

I love kithcenaid products so this played a major role in my choice. It is well made but the garlic does get stuck in the crevices which is a slight pain.this seemed to be an issue with most brands, I just keep a toothpick near by and that takes care of the issue. I don't put things like this in my dishwasher, I was by hand which I would advise. I have had it for a few months and mine looks brand new which amazes me because I use it a lot. I give it 4 stars because I do need to use toothpicks to clean it.

Update 7/30/25: I discovered that this has the removable baskit. Guess it was stuck in there and I didn't know it. Good press! Buy it! I had the older Kitchenaide garlic press with the removable basket. Much easier to clean. Alas, that little basket went missing. Thought this would have same design. My fault for not looking more closely at the description. It still functions just fine. Just takes a little more effort to clean. Still, a good value.

Bought this on super sale and it's pretty good especially for the price. BUT be very careful---since the inner part of the press is removable for "easy cleaning," it can easily go down the garbage disposal if someone is not careful. My husband didn't realize it had gone down the sink and when I turned on the disposal --oh boy! almost destroyed our disposal. Just spent a half hour working on the disposal to remove this little thingy that got wedged in. Just a warning! Now getting onto Amazon to buy a new garlic press that doesn't have this little removable piece to avoid this another time!!

I had a garlic press since the early 80s. It broke and because I had it so long, I felt so bad. After getting this new one, I am now glad it broke! I am older with weaker hands now. This new press works so easy for me. The old one...I had to squeeze like heck. This one... I mean easy! I used to have to cut the garlic up in small pieces. This one can handle larger chunks. I had to use a toothpick to clean the old one. This one can be easily cleaned under some running water. Much easier. The handle grips are super great. I totally recommend.
