Wrangler Authentics Men's Classic Relaxed Fit Cargo Short

These cargo shorts are perfect for me. Here's why... ...POCKETS - There are 8 pockets, not just 6 as noted in description. Besides two front, two back and two side pockets (with velcro flap), there are two good-sized tech pockets behind the side pockets. Tech pockets are deep and wide enough for my iPhone 13 on one side and eyeglasses on the other. Even with items in both the side and tech pockets, they do not tend to bulge out too much but have not tried with anything too bulky (like small binoculars or camera). All pockets are of a decent, usable depth. No buttons on the rear pockets which would have been useful. ...FIT - Having lost some weight recently hesitantly moved down to a 34 waist. No need to worry, very comfortable fit. Amazon description says pants are cotton/poly blend but clothing label says pants are 100% cotton. Despite being all cotton, did not notice any shrinkage after washing/drying and a very slight amount of give was retained, which I prefer (but not enough for material to bunch up when tightening belt). Pants were made in Bangladesh. ...COST - To my way of thinking, a great value at $22-$23 a pair. Had originally ordered two pairs and liked them so much I then ordered three more. ...MATERIAL - Fits my definition of mid-weight material. Not so thin that they wrinkle almost immediately (they do wrinkle somewhat after sitting a while...what 100% cotton shorts do not), but not too heavy either which can make them rather hot to wear. ...DURABILITY - Have been wearing these for about a month with no problems or complaints. Having five pairs now, I rotate wearing them but all have been washed at least twice. I wash in cold or warm water and even though the label says to "tumble dry low or line dry", I have had no shrinkage issues drying them in the dryer with the other laundry. ...COLOR - The colors I bought (British Khaki, Dark Putty and Anthracite Ripstop) are quite true to the pictures on Amazon. I do not care for very dark khaki and was especially pleased that the British Khaki color was mid range, as it appeared in the photo. Very pleased to have found these and feel they are a bargain at the price. Addendum on 8/16/2024: Bought five pairs of these shorts and worn them everyday this summer. Still as pleased with them as I was when first purchased in June 2024. They are all wearing quite well and I expect to get at least two more summers out of them. Great value.

I've been very satisfied with my numerous Wrangler Cargo Shorts purchases over the past 10 years or so, and that's even more true with this pair of Wrangler Authentics. Not only are they in the excellent Anthracite (dark gray) color and the Ripstop material, but they also have the Tech Pocket on both sides. Furthermore, the Tech Pockets are deeper than some other Wrangler Cargo shorts I have owned in recent years -- a full 6 inches deep. Of course, they also offer the fit and quality that keeps me coming back.

I've been wearing Wrangler shorts for years, and I usually buy them at Target. However, Target didn't have the color that I wanted in my size, so I ordered from Amazon this time. I ordered two pairs of the British Khaki to start with, and both of them are identical - and nothing like what is pictured here. They are darker in color and more greenish brown than tan. Turns out, it's the same color that they had in my size at Target that I didn't want. It is what a number of my British Khaki dress pants looks like, so it's not improperly named...just improperly shown. As different companies have variations on that color, I went with what was pictured. I then ordered a pair of the Dark Putty, and they are as shown here. The fit at the waist, IMO, is spot on. The "tech pocket" is great for holding a smart phone, as least mine with a ~5" screen. The fabric is lightweight and comfortable, and I'm a big fan of shorts that hang down closer to my knees. I grew up in the era of short shorts, and now that I'm 43, I like them longer. I also really like that the back pockets don't have any buttons or Velcro like my other Wrangler cargo shorts have, as I often like to slip my phone into a back pocket while walking the pooch. With these, that's no problem. They still have the two front pockets with Velcro for more secure storage. All in all, I give the design five stars, but I docked them one star because both pairs of British Khaki that I ordered weren't as shown and weren't what I wanted. The Dark Putty is great, though.

Shorts are super comfy and have great quality to them.

This review is for the 'Wrangler Authentics Men's Classic Relaxed Fit Cargo Short.' I LOVE that this style does NOT have elastic waistbands. I find those end up stretching out so much you get maybe one or two wearings before you must shrink them back down by washing. Wrangler shorts have been a go-to brand for me for over a decade: they're reasonably-priced, fit well, look good and last for five+ years. In my experience the Velcro wears out long before the material. Fit Note: I typically wear a 33 waist in pants from Levi's, Banana Republic, J. Crew and Eddie Bauer. I ordered that size in three colors: Dark Putty, British Khaki Twill & Military Ripstop. All fit as-expected except for the Dark Putty, which I returned as it felt maybe half-to-one size small. I don't know if this was due to a manufacturing variance, different plant, material or etc. If you're borderline between two sizes, you may want to order both and keep whichever fits best. Thanks to the 65/35 cotton/poly blend, I didn't notice any shrinkage after washing (warm with dryer on low).

Ordered the large size. Great fit [6'3"/182] with roomy pockets and velcro closure flaps.

These men’s shorts are soft, true to size, very comfortable. Wades well color stays true.

Very nice pair of cargo shorts. Fit perfectly Very comfortable. Just as expected except….. they were not the color that I ordered. A little disappointed but will keep the pair they sent as I need a pair of shorts that fit after sudden loss of weight
