Duke Cannon Supply Co.Solid Cologne for Men Special Issue Vetiver and Oakmoss (Fresh Air, Sandalwood) - Concentrated Balm, Travel-Friendly Tin, 1.5 oz

I have been using DC soaps and body washes for a while now because I enjoy their fragrances but have always wished the scent would last after the shower. So I was quite excited to see that they started offering a line of colognes with the same fragrances.Unfortunately, unlike other brands, Duke Cannon does not offer samplers so to try a new fragrance is a $20 experiment. I’m writing this review to try to describe the scents I’ve tried so that potential buyers can better guess which ones they might prefer. I will update the review whenever I try a new fragrance. The scents that I’ve tried are potent and long lasting and a tin should last a few months even with daily use so as long as one likes the fragrance, I would consider this an excellent product.So far, I’ve tried: Leaf and Leather, Bay Rum, Birchwood.Leaf and Leather: I was familiar with this one because it is my favorite body wash fragrance (formerly Old Glory). It is described as tobacco and leather and that is pretty much exactly what it smells like. I’ve always loved the rich, warm, almost fruity sweetness of pipe tobacco despite never having smoked tobacco of any sort. If you’ve ever walked by a tobacco store in a mall, you probably know the scent. It is very sweet but not feminine. The leather adds a musky bit of sharpness that helps to balance the sweetness without clashing. This may not be for everyone, but it is my personal favorite (so far).Bay Rum: This is another fragrance that can be found in their soaps and body washes (which you might be able to find in some large retailers like Target, if you want to sample the fragrance without buying). Like the Leaf and Leather, this has a rich, warm sweetness. But rather than using a sharp scent to balance it, it uses strong spice notes, primarily nutmeg and allspice. It is reminiscent of Old Spice but not as “milky”. Does it smell like rum? Maybe? A little bit? It’s kind of hard to tell through the spice, but it is a very warm and inviting fragrance.Birchwood: I went into this one blind. It sounded interesting tho so I took a chance. It… was not what I was expecting. I use the word “sweet” a lot when talking about these fragrances and I know from their soaps that not all of their scents are like this, but this one is perhaps the sweetest smelling that I’ve tried. It is unabashedly floral. I feel like I recognize the flower it is derived from but can’t quite put my finger on it. Hyacinth? Gardenia? I’d have to go to an Old Yankee Candle shop and peruse the flower scents there to match it. It’s not a masculine scent at all. But after the sweetness hits you, you get an oddly tangy after scent like the smell of sawdust from fresh cut lumber which adds just a smidge of machismo. Like, “I’m a flowery princess… lumberjack.” I’m not a big fan of this one and wouldn’t have bought it had I known what it would smell like. As a cologne, it’s a bit too sweet and jarring, but I don’t mind using a bit in my armpits to act as a deodorant. I think it isn’t quite as cloying when cut with a little body musk.Vetiver and Oak Moss: Another blind buy. This one is more of a seductive masculine scent. If you are familiar with vetiver you will recognize the warm, sultry scent that makes the backbone of this fragrance. It isn’t quite as earthy as straight vetiver tho and has a bit of smooth muskiness. This isn’t super sweet or cloying and not at all floral like the birchwood. It also isn’t as distinctive as the other colognes I’ve tried. Maybe a bit like Drakkar Noir? It’s my GF’s fave so far.If you are trying solid colognes out and prefer natural smelling fragrances to the sharper “sporty” scents common in men’s deodorants, I also recommend trying the Viking Revolution sampler pack. I really like their Vetiver and Clary Sage fragrances.

I just recently found out my cat has asthma, so I was looking for an alternative to my spray colognes, especially since my favorite is Calvin Klein Eternity. This Midnight Swim scent reminds me so much of Eternity. I’m so happy I found it. I love it

Love the product and fragrance. Was disappointed with the container it came in. The photos when you look at item are different than what it actually is. They show a hinged lid, but it’s a slide lid and is much more flimsy. I have the Duke Cannon Bourbon Barrel Cologne and it has the hinged lid. Much better.They need to change photos of product to match what they are sending. They Need to go back to hinged lid

Amazing product, wear it everyday. Would highly highly recommend. Came in perfect condition.

Love the perfume. It won't last long but is convenient and a nice addition for any man.

This is presumably the replacement for what was once known as the “Naval Supremacy” scent. It’s not as good. Where Naval Supremacy was almost too strong and required a lite application, Midnight Swim barely registers even if you stick your nose right up to the tin. Cologne should be subtle, yes, but I do expect it to actually smell it without basting myself like a Turkey before Thanksgiving. On the plus side, it’s might portable and mess-free so you can re-apply throughout the day, as you’d need to if you expect it to last. Rather disappointed as Duke Cannon’s cologne used to be such a fantastic profuct.

Why this product doesn't come with a warning label is beyond me! No sooner than opening this for the first time and applying it directly on my lushes manly skin, did I hear screaming and yelling outside of my home! I originally wasn't too concerned, as to I have crazy neighbors and was infatuated with the scent radiating from my godly chest! As I glanced out my window overlooking my courtyard, I see what appears to be a swarm of people but these weren't just any people, these were women, women on a mission, if I have ever seen such a thing. These women were in full sprint, running towards my castle as if they were running from something or someone. As they get closer, I can start to see the lust in their eyes and sweat beading off their glorious faces. In fear and confusion, I ensure my guards are on alert, in my head I ask myself, what could possibly be happening!!? The women finally surrounding my home kicking and yelling "please let us in, all we want is the man with the lushes godly man chest covered in Duke Cannon" !!!! I realized at this very moment, that I was not worthy of these wonderful, magnificent, holy scents. I opened the window of my master bedroom and tossed the tin as far as I could, with every bit of might in me! I then noticed the tin was closed, how could I be so idiotic and incapable to not think of opening it before I threw it? The thought of opening it before I let this exquisite tin of love scent leave my hand, it never crossed my mind in all of the panic. I ran quickly to the shower and scrubbed and scrubbed but the scent of the heavens would not leave my soul! It's been over a month now that my army has been fighting to keep me alive and intact. I can't help but to smell the Duke Cannon ever so slightly coming from my chest as I lay down at night... Please listen to me when I tell you, this product has dramastically changed my life, don't make the same mistake I did unknowingly!
