UPDATED: I was wrong about how these lights charge and work! Apparently the USB connection was never charging my light strings. It's just an alternate way to light them up. I should have realized this right away because you plug it into the strand, not the battery pack. I'd never used this type of lights before so I didn't know where the battery bank was stored.Also, the remotes stopped working with the strands unless it was connected to USB, which was pointless for what I needed. Very disappointing. I ended up returning both light strands and am hunting for an alternative. If you're happy with the strands being only solar powered, or you will always be able to plug them into a USB connection, they'll still work for you. Otherwise, these are no different than any of the others offered on Amazon.***I LOVE these little lights so much that I've already ordered another strand. I charged them up with the USB connection before attaching to the top of my kids' trampoline net. They're SO bright and fun.The kids love controlling the different flashing/blinking settings with the remote. I zip-tied the solar panel to one of the net poles in full sun and have had no issues with recharging.They're easy to use and, for a backyard in the country with no other lights around, provide a ton of light. These are smaller than the usual strand lights; slightly bigger than a gumball. They're an opaque crystalline style plastic, not clear. Seem very durable and I'm not worried about them breaking onto the trampoline.They'd be perfect to string up inside a playhouse, around a patio or in a tree.

Right off the bat, they're small. 2.5cm small which is about an inch. Then, they're not bright at all, super deceiving by the other reviews. The package also says it would allow for 2-way charging on a rainy day, well there's no adapter between the said USB charger and the solar controller to-do that. At least not in my box, or the two boxes I bought. Super disappointing. Not sure if I'm keeping them or returning at this point.

This upgraded version is definitely a plus. Gives you the option of going solar for outdoor use and usb for indoor use. If its a sunny day they stay on till 3:00am. Indoors they are bright and colorful. Having a memory would be nice, however, they are priced right.

So far these lights are great. I bought 2 separate strings and they work great. I have them outside on our deck and even after a heavy rain they light up! I would recommend!

I love the way these lights look the globes are much smaller than they appear in pictures though. Overall great purchase

Strings longer, and include a remote. Time will tell if the longevity is better, as old style only lasted 1 pool season.

I wasnt sure these would work based on the price but they are super cute!! Set up was easy. The remote isnt working for me but I'm not really worried about it, I can easliy do it manually.

I purchased two sets of these lights, one set works perfectly, the other set did not work at all. They are not very bright, but they are fun to have out on the deck.
