Never had used a facemask, and was encouraged to buy this product for international travel due to the plane drying your skin out. I wanted to do a trial run here at home, before I apply it on the plane on my last connecting flight, so I opened it, and was smacked in the face with the most pleasant coconut smell. I love coconut, and the smell was delightful. I left it on my face for 35 minutes, then took it off. I rubbed the remaining goodness into my skin per the instructions. It left my face feeling fresh, and that pleasant smell lingered as well. I am now a fan, and will order more.
