SO glad I got these hanging file folders. I had a bunch of older, mostly off-brand, folders that needed replacing for various reasons. These are reinforced very well at the top and bottom. Thick material which is smooth (not fuzzy-ish like some products I've purchased). Two-tone so you can see the inside and not inadvertently file papers between the folders instead of in them. They are creased for expanding. You need to press the creases to get them to take shape. The creased area keeps the fold in line. They come with pre-cut cardboard pieces to place in the bottom of the expansion for supporting papers/folders. They hold a LOT of paper (400 sheets, I think it advertised?). It cut down on how many of the 'regular' hanging folders I need, besides replaced the old ones with better quality items. I was able to bundle various paper filings I have and not worry about them busting through the bottom, etc. Great buy and I think the price was right as well.

Pendaflex really got it right on this one! Each of these takes the place of multiple regular Pendaflex folders and, unlike 2 inch hanging folders I've used in the past, the bottom inserts are strong enough to keep the bottom flat so you can easily see each folder's tab. Great Product!

I ordered these for filing some large documents (bound tax returns etc.) in a file folder. They will take us less space and be more accessible. I ordered the expandable folders as I have used them before, and they will have a "flat" bottom, so folders can hold more. So far have been very happy with the quality.

I have always trusted the Pendaflex brand file folders and hanging folders. These are no exception.The squared off bottom allows larger files to fit inside better than they fit inside V bottomed hanging files. My larger file folders slip down inside and do not peek out of the top. This is very important as some of my files 1 1/2 inches thick. These files were sticking at the top of my filing drawers and causing jams. My filing drawers are old and have enough trouble to open and close without needing to adding files jamming in the top of the drawers to the mix.These hanging folders are easy to use and do not have the accordion pleats on the sides that can hang on the edges of files. There is a small piece of thicker paper in the bottom of each hanging folder that helps to keep the bottom of it open so that I can easily drop each file into place. When not in use, or with thinner files, they can be compressed to take up less space in my file drawers without jamming or breaking.The small tab at the top of each allows me to further note which file goes into that folder. This can make it easier for assistants to file correctly. (Whatever they are teaching in school, it is not how to file alphabetically! Add to the mix that some of my files are not filed alphabetically, and that tiny tab is a help to keep my drawers organized.)The hooks fit along the rails and glide effortlessly.

Why did I not know about these hanging file folders? My office skills are not the best in terms of organization, but these file folders have really helped! They are a pain to assembled. It's a clumsy process. You have to stick an insert in the tabs on the bottom. Get one side in, the other side falls out. Do that a few times, cuss while you do it, and finally, the inserts are in place. My file folders have kept their shape. I don't pull the whole file folder out of the drawer, however. That could be a problem with the insert falling out. Don't know, haven't tried it.

Mixing them with regular sizes made my files more usable.

Pendaflex makes excellent folders. The assembly with the cardboard bottom seems like cheap and no doubt it is a cost cutting measure, but it works. And considering all it does is hold paper for long lengths of time, why not.
