Helpful to those new to accounting, but contains quite a few errors
I found this book useful because it summarizes information contained in the author's other book, Accounting for Non-Accounts. I have the 3rd edition of this study guide, and have found some major errors in several chapters in the sample questions and answers. The author Dr Label is a CPA and also has an MBA and a Ph.D. and the other author Ms Kennedy Henderson has an MS. I am thinking that someone else developed the questions and answers. Accounting is all about accuracy and so I am baffled as to why there are so many errors in the 3rd edition. 😕 It appears that the questions and answers were not double checked. This book appears to be a print on demand book. If it is, the 3rd edition errors can be easily corrected. I was pleased that I could figure out the errors and make the necessary corrections. I would have given the book 5 stars if it were not for the numerous errors.

Don’t!!!
It is full of mistakes and in a accounting book, one wrong number, messes up everything.

Multiple Errors
I liked the outlines. However, my solutions didn’t match the ones found in the back of the book. I double checked my arithmetic and reviewed every concept thoroughly before attempting the problems. As I consulted with a business professional with an accounting background, it was determined that my solutions were correct.

Inspect the left pages of the book before writing in it!
On the right hand side of every page there is a blank line going through all the ink. Makes it hard to study when half the words aren’t in the book.

Disappointed
This book is the companion to Dr. Label's "Accounting for Non-Accountants," which I also purchased. I'm using it for a tutorial with a college student who needs the course for a minor in Social Entrepreneurship. She would ultimately like to open a professional practice and I wanted a book that would be very basic for a non-business major, yet still provide useful and practical information.Although the text is good, this study guide is rife with errors. Most of the exercises and problems have multiple errors and omissions, and I will not have the student spend money on it. Many of the exercises I am going to use will come from the standard Accounting text that I use for business majors. It's frustrating and very unprofessional in a book about accounting, which requires attention to detail so lacking in the study guide. The only saving grace is that it was not very expensive. I suggest that Dr. Label and Ms. Henderson start a complete overhaul of this book and publish something that is worthy of the profession.
