The large male cat on the left is 18#, his girlfriend 8#. They love it.
Excellent! And made in USA. And strong. They've since come out with an adjustable model that will work on a window not so wide; I'll buy one of those next.Later edit to review; original review written 15 months ago.I'd like to up my rating from 5 stars to more than 5. The software doesn't allow that, but I do love this product. I also like the fact that its invented and made by a guy in the USA that did the equivalent of making a better paperclip. Wonderful product. So glad to see it survive the many cheap knock off products that have tried to steal its basic idea and cheapen up the materials/workmanship/support.I have 2 big Maine Coons (the largest breed of housecat, with a bit more wild in them than most cats) in one room with the Kitty Cot. They don't have to fight over it; big as they are, they share it. I've seen a cheap knockoff product rated to 20 #.... My larger Maine Coon is 17# now unaltered and skinny but huge with giant claws, teeth, whiskers and ears, compared to most cats. He'll likely be 25-30 # later in life after altering. With the Kitty Cot I don't need to worry about them falling; its solid. One point on that though; do use windex to clean glass and suction cups and let them dry. It'll be solid. So, 15 months later, my large male has slightly frayed one corner of the fabric, tough as it is. I'm surprised. I'm pretty sure most cats claws will now wear this fabric much; its amazingly tough. I wrote to James Howard, inventor and maker of the Kitty Cot. I told him I was happy with his product, but a year later there was a tiny bit of wear in one corner, and I sent a picture.Well I guess I was right; not many cats can hurt that tough fabric; Howard immediately provided a replacement fabric, so now my Kitty cot will look brand new again.I've been a cat person now for over half a century. I will never again be without a Kitty Cot in my favorite room, or two. Or three...... Got lots of windows.... ;-)Mr. James Howard, thank you for making such a fine product, one that cats truly like, use, and treasure. And also for providing first class support.----Added:I just added picture #2. It shows the new blue fabric, plus 21# of Maine Coon kitten just 8 months old, yet they weigh 7 & 14 #, respectively. My Kitty Cots (yes, plural) are strong enough for these cats, and still will be when full grown, and massive.Never skip the #1 rule of applying this to a window: Do Not forget to Windex, First. Especially if you have big cats. :-)

Loved it so much I ordered another (but also should have measured before buying!)
Love it! Super easy to set up and my kitten loves it. I didn’t measure my window (d’oh!) so the large one is too big for the window I wanted to put it on, but it’s worked out nicely to put it on my sliding glass door. With a little “catification” I was able to create a way for her to get up this high and she can see over our fence where all the cars and people go by. It also gives her a nice view of our kitchen and living room so she can keep an eye on us.Of course she is a kitten so she has already tried chewing the wires and the PVC pipe as well as scratching the hammock. But so far, so good: I think the materials really discourage her from keeping it up for too long and they seem sturdy enough to withstand it. I didn’t need to put a blanket on it for her to start using it, but I think I’ll purchase a small one to make it a little more comfortable and warm.Last night, I was easily able to detach the non-wired suction cups so I could close the blinds. And this morning it was super easy to reattach them. So I measured my window and found that the small cot will be the best fit for it; I ordered it right away since I know it’ll be easy to set up and a big hit with kitten. This is a must have for apartment dwellers since we can’t really nail things to the wall. This is going to allow me to give my kitten an extra level up from the cat trees I have in front of my bedroom and living room windows. Although this one is a little more expensive than others out there, it does seem to be constructed from more durable materials. Given how my kitten immediately started clawing and biting it, I’m glad I didn’t go with one of the others that might not have withstood that.Last piece of advice: MEASURE YOUR WINDOW FIRST! 😁 It all worked out for me but especially if you have a window that slides open horizontally, you have to measure just one side of the window: this won’t be stable enough if you try to use it across the two parts of the window since the two sides are not flush with each other. I found that one of the suction cups just didn’t stick as securely because of it, so I used a different window for this one and ordered the small cot which will fit on the sliding part of the window.
