AwesomeCooled our attic’s temperature cooling the house better. It was 85 degrees outside today the ac didn’t come on till 430 today set at 72. Pretty easy installation by myself. Just took a little longer.

I did a lot of research when replacing my roof to find an attic fan to help with the heat and moisture and kept coming back to Remington. Their fans are pricey but for this particular one I love the solar panel, and the optional powering cable to a regular house outlet & the smart humidistat. I opted for both and do not regret it. To save money I find that all the items were cheaper on Remington website compared to Amazon since they have special discount codes you can use. The only issue I have so far with smart feature is that the app doesn’t tell you if the fan is on/off. It only gives you the option to set the temp and and the humidity level. If you want to know if the fan is running, you’ll have to visually verify which is not often an option especially if this is installed in a crawl space. Besides that, the fan works well, it does help with dropping the temperature and humidity in the attic and I look forward more testing and will update my review as I see fit. Great product to have if you need to vent your crawl or attic space.

This thing runs quiet as a mouse. Does it work? I believe so but we also had a new roof put on with better ventilation so it’s hard to discern. Definitely buy the model that allows for electric override if the sun goes behind clouds. I did but it is way too hot to get into the attic right now in Florida. It doesn’t take much blocking of the solar panel to turn off the fan. Literally, just put your hand on the solar panel and the fan shuts off.

The most important thing when choosing a true dependable and long lasting attic fan is the design of its motor. Brushless motor is the only choice because of its non-contact to any moving parts for its propulsion with only the shaft bearings to wear over many years of continue use. Brushes in convetional motors will inevetably wear out to seize its rotation. Although many are replaceable, but replacing them may lead to other problems with bearings and brush carriers, and not everyone is mechanically inclined to the process.Remington 40W Attic Fan is true brushless fan. The price maybe a bit higher than the other comparable brands, but its worth every penny of it. Install it and forget it. I have mines under the Hawaiian sun for a near three years now without any issue. Whenever i walked in the garage during the day, i hear its fan humming like music to my ears. On the otherhand, i bought 2 more attic fans attracted by their cheaper price and deceptive claim as brushless motors Less than 7 months ago (DC Homes attic fans brand ). One has stopped working recently because of worn brushes. Whats worse is that it'll cost me more money to have them removed from my roof top.I highly recommend Remington Attic Fans because of its proven dependable performance.I will replace the two failed mediocre fans with Remington Attic Solar Fans someday when i gather enough funding for them.

I bought three of these when doing a new roof. They were installed. Now two out of the three are not working. Who is supposed to pay me for the roofers to install two replacements?I suppose warranty should cover it. But, even if they send me two new ones, will they pay me $500 each for removing the old ones and install a new ones? I don’t think Remington will. I can’t even reach them. DO NOT BUY this product.Today I called Remington Solar. They say warranty doesn’t cover the whole fan. Only a defective part. They want me to find out which part is defective on a fan which is installed 30 feet high on the roof 😡😡.This company is terrible and their product is absolutely horrible. I have lost a lot of money on this inferior and flimsy product and they are not compensating me for it. They would not even replace the fan. Just THE DEFFECTIVE PART which I am supposed to find out which part is defective, as if I am a technician to diagnose what is wrong. You must be kidding me. My advise is DO NOT BUY anything from this company. Amazon should remove them from their site too. Amazon is also partly to blame to sell these substandard and defective products. I will file a complaint with Amazon today.
