Amazing Focal Sound
Simply amazing, exactly what I'd expect from a pair of Focal speakers. I replaced a pair of Access 165AS3 speakers with these. The Access speakers were a complete letdown, while these are everything I'd expect from Focal. The tweeter is detailed, and a bit forward. It's not overly bright and provided a smoother sound then you'd expect. Perfect for use in a convertible with the top down. The tweeter is larger then the standard size ones, so take that into account when mounting. The woofer is fast, detailed, accurate and punchy. It provides a great amount of base from a 6.5" woofer. The only downside is that it's a large speaker, so make sure you have enough space to mount it. The only downside is this is the bi-amp capable setup. The crossovers are rather huge, and a bit harder to place. The normal PS 165 FE has smaller crossovers that are easier to work with if you don't plan to bi-amp them.

Need plenty of power.
Make sure you feed them plenty of power. I’m using JL XD600/6 which is rated at 75x6 at 4ohms. It sounds fine but I feel these speakers need more power to really get them to open up. I may get another amp and try to get 100 watts continuous to them. They felt a bit bright at first. After a few weeks I felt the sound got a lot better. They need to be broken in.

Amazing sound
These sound better than the premium bang and olufsen speakers I had in my audi! Rich, clear sound even when reaching max volume, I am very satisfied.

Sehr schönen warmen Klang, darum hatte ich sie nach dem ersten Defekt noch einmal bestellt. Waren nach der Garantie defekt zweieinhalb Jahre. Jetzt muss ich leider wieder ein Defekt feststellen und wieder zweieinhalb Jahre.
