TL/DR: This is an excellent and durable cover for a safety razor and is sized to fit well, regardless of your brand. The quality is obvious and I have no complaints on it’s functionality. Where I have not been able to travel with it in light of the current global situation, I can already tell that it will protect my razor during travel and protect my other things from my razor! I use a safety razor to shave my head and whenever I travelled, I had to use the box it originally came it. That wasn’t a problem except that it has accumulated some wear over the years and seemed like it would need to get tossed soon. This will ensure that I have an excellent solution to use instead. If you or anyone you know uses a safety razor, I highly recommend this cover. Even if you don’t travel, it’s a great way to protect and showcase your gear. Not only that, but the company is awesome! Upgrading to the metal safety razor life was one of the best choices I've ever made. I'll literally never need to buy another razor again, and now I'm pretty sure I'll never need to buy another travel holder for mine again, either. Fits perfectly, color goes great with my rose gold razor but would go nicely with any metallic color IMO, and it's designed just right so that the razor head can breathe and dry off instead of needing to be dried first, but it's still perfectly protected at the same time. Exactly what I needed for my transient lifestyle. And it came with a nice fancy pouch and overall just really classy packaging, I honestly don't know how they manage to make such a nice and well-handled product at such a great price point. Will absolutely be looking up this brand again next time I'm needing some sort of small leatherworked item.

The craftsmanship seems to be very high quality! Price is outstanding!!! Good sticking and decently thick premium leather. Fits both long and short handle de razors very well. The leather colors also look very good! Would recommend for keeping your hardware looking nice during travel.

Merkur Futur fits perfectly in this leather bootie..Craftsmanship seems solid enough not outstanding to get a 5star..want to see how it holds up to moisture and use..can slip into any pocket in a backpack for travel..Mine didn't come with a carry pouch or anything like I've seen in other reviews.

This razor holder is great. I've bought from this company before so I knew what great quality to expect! They used to include a little pouch, but it seems now they have traded that out for a little keychain. The pouch would have been nice to put the holder in during travel, but no biggie I've still got my old one! I included pics with a Rockwell 6c, a Vikings Blade Chieftain, and a Merkur 34c so that way if you are on the fence about it, maybe you'll see what it looks like holding your specific razor. If you're considering getting it, just get it, these guys make a quality product, no doubt.

I’ve had this now for several months and am just getting around to reviewing it. As mentioned in the title, for all the Merkur Future owners out there, this Double Edged Razor/Safety Razor cover by Hide & Drink, fits like a glove as if made specifically for it. It does an excellent job of keeping the safety razor protected and completely covering the blade, should you decide to keep one in the razor while stowed. Personally, I prefer a new blade each time, which makes for a better shave and a safer stored razor, but given the economy and product availability for my blades of choice, I’ve been known to reuse the blades and to keep them in the razor after having cleaned and dried both. This case/cover also fits my Edwin Jagger (long handle) very well, with just a bit more wiggle room, but just as safely. Since I do not own any other DE razors, I cannot speak to the fit outside of those two. However, I can point out that this cover will fit both long handle and short handle razors, as well as thin and thick necked varieties (which the slip on head covers don’t excel in). In addition, this particular model has no inner metal snap to scratch and mar your razor like H&D’s other model - this one is just pure leather and thread - and yes, it is very secure when closed and will not accidentally come open, far better than a snap! In addition to this case, I am also using H&D’s shaving brush case (best for smaller brushes and keeps the bristles protected in travel - will fit medium sized as well, but closes better and more securely with a smaller brush), as well as one of their moon-shaped (half circle) coin pouches (which works perfectly for storing and transporting razor blade cases with a little extra security and class), and lastly a H&D DE Razor head cover (for the EJ) - all in matching slate blue. All of these items are well worth the money (especially if you look for sale prices). Yes, you can find better leather goods out there, but these are great for the cost, and function very well for my purposes, and will probably do so for you as well. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I got this today for my new safety razor and it fits perfectly! The leather is really good quality and does an excellent job of covering the sharp edges of the blade! I also love that it’s supporting craftsmanship in Guatemala and that it showed up exactly as the picture and the description said it would. It is full grain leather (which is the highest quality you can get) and it also came with a cute little cloth pouch for added protection and I suspect it will also help absorb residual moisture to keep the blade from getting rusty. For reference my razor is an Edwin jagger travel sized razor, though the strap allows for a handle with a longer length as you can see in my photos. I’m glad that this product isn’t being produced in a huge factory, the quality of the craftsmanship really shows that it was handmaiden by people who care.

The quality of the leather seems nice and the stitchery is okay. The stitching is a little thin, a thicker thread should have been used, so I'm not certain how long it will last. The packaging was terrible. It was basically shoved into a thin plastic pouch and was mangled into a mess when I got it. Ultimately the case was fine but there is zero pride in packing it. Over all I think it will work fine but it is definitely not worth the price and it's clear the company doesn't care.
