Grandson loves it!
Much brighter than expected which is great to keep all of the “monsters” away. Grandson is 3 and able to use on his own.

Saved Us After Category 4 Hurricane
Ordered this last minute in an attempt to prepare for Hurricane Ian. We ended up with a direct hit on our location and no power for a couple weeks. Really grateful to have had this, it kept the whole living area light and batteries lasted a long time! Didn't need to replace them even after consistent usage for two weeks.

Instructions are a little vague and light is on the very bright side
Size is nice, if we lose power this could just go in the middle of the table . . . except that we would be blinded by the light, even on low. Hanging it from the ceiling, it would work great. Use it in a tent, or outside and it would be fine. Wish it had a matt finish white panel inside around the bulb to spread the light out more.The instructions both written and on the bottom make it look like you need to untwist the round disk in the base to get to the battery compartment. No, you twist the entire base and it comes off. Then it says to put the batteries in according to + or -, but there are no markings to aid in which end goes in first. We experimented and found the correct alignment, but you would get it just from the unit or the instructions. Minus one star for directions and/or product marking that could be clearer.

The light lasts all night.
This worked great when a rented a log cabin in New Hampshire. The light stayed on all night.

Bad switches. Beware
I purchased two of these over the course of the last month. Both have faulty switches. One does not turn off at all, just cycles to a very dim setting... the second stays on for a few seconds then goes off. Both have fresh batteries. These are just garbage regrettably and it’s too bad because their size is ideal for my kids play forts or yard use... they also provide versatility with good levels of light. Bummer

Such a bright light for a little lantern
Our family has gotten such good use out of this little lantern. It has different settings for brightness that you adjust by pushing the button a couple times. It is all made of plastic which has been great for my kids. I don’t mind them carrying it around or dropping it. We have taken it camping several times and during some of the seasons we haven’t been able to build a fire and have put it in the middle of a campfire circle and it has put out some good light!It does take 4 AA batteries and it can eat them a little bit it seems like, but totally worth it. There is a little handle on the top that you can use to carry around or hang it up with. When not in use it folds down flat on the top. We love this lantern and it is not only very lightweight and kid friendly, but useful too!
